Bought a new truck. Got a quote for $122/month. Had it all set up. Then the guy offers a quote for home insurance, so I figured why not I'm already on the phone. I started answering questions and he asked me what I do for a living. I said I work in construction. He told me that counts as 'commercial' use of a vehicle, since I'm not permanently working at one job site. Apparently they cannot insure me at all, now, because they don't offer commercial insurance. What kind of bs is that?! I made it clear that I'm only driving to work and not using the vehicle to get work done, but that doesn't matter apparently.
The next cheapest company I could find was $170/month, which is a major jump from 122.
