Re: 2010maztre's........... 2010 mazda 3
Well i have nothing spectacular to update. I emailed msds about their header, he said theyll have a stock of them in 6weeks. So im s.o.l until then. Not sure what my next purchase should be. Coils or sway bar. Either way im hoping to get both at some point.

Re: 2010maztre's........... 2010 mazda 3
Well, kind of an odd thing happened today. I posted a picture on instagram (that was taken from our little 519 fall photo shoot) of just the front half of the car, but it showed the Corksport sticker I have. So I hash tagged corksport in it, and a few minutes later I had Rich G from Corksport marketing, send me a friend request on facebook, which I thought was odd, but awesome at the same time, so of course I accepted his friend request not thinking to much about it. So about an hour later I get a message from him saying that he liked the photo of my car on instagram, and congratulated me on my the birth of my son. So I thought this was awesome that he went out of his way to add me on facebook and tell me this. So I replied saying thanks and gave Corksports product some praise, and he messaged me back saying to let me know when I make my next purchase from them, and he will toss in a "surprise" (it probably just some lanyards or a tshirt...........or sponsorship :rolleyes lol) so I bought a rear sway bar lol, I was going to buy one in the summer time, but I had some extra cash so decided why not, since I wanna know what the "surprise" is lol! So thanks Rich for going out of your way, Corksport hired a good marketer.
and thats my story for today lol, and in 4 more weeks ill be ordering a msds header (cant wait) and then ill look into tuning options for next year, see what path i want to take, not sure if just a "re flash" of my ecu will be enough or buy a piggy back ecu like an AEM F/I/C. and input on tuning would be much appreciated
and sorry for all the "so's" lol, I just read this over and..... yea..... I said "So" so many times lol

just to give some input on the re-flash vs aem fic. imo, dont get the reflash. assuming its from dynotronics. people on other forums have reported problems with their reflash and not very good gains. atleast with the fic, you can get someone local to dynotune it for u, and change it whenever you want. it will also be more dd friendly as it will only affect open loop around 4k rpm onward. i can also guarantee that youll get better gains with a specific dyno tune for your car. the main things the fic cant do is raise rpm, take out limiters, and tune closed loop. shouldnt be an issue since you have plenty of rpm band to play with in the 2.0l
just my 2 cents.
also cool story.

Thank you. is there any other piggy back system you would recommend? i've just started looking into them, aem seems to be more common then others.

the one i got was from powermod, and i got it for 400$ off paul. tbh, i have no idea how much it costs if you get it from the actual manufacturer. the aem fic seems to be best bang for your buck since it can also tune the turbo kit by tri-point engineering. look around, but the aem piggyback looks like the best option, and its also been tried and tested on the mazda 3.

ok thanks, 2 more questions lol, (sorry) is tuning the closed loop important? and can you only tune it with a standalone?

its not extremely important, unless you have a serious built motor which needs fuel, ignition, and timing changes in the lower rpms and idle to run, and run well. you can tune it with a standalone, or a reflasher like cobb tuning i believe (not 100% about that).
the tune will only take over when it can which is when closed loop goes to open loop.

Re: 2010maztre's........... 2010 mazda 3
Finally on rsb :) Looking forward to see which coil-over you will pick.

Re: 2010maztre's........... 2010 mazda 3
Hmmm picking coils is going to be hard lol. Theres so many out there.
-
Re: 2010maztre's........... 2010 mazda 3
Bc is the best bang for your buck. Tein and riceland don't offer adjustable stiffness and don't come with camber plates.

Re: 2010maztre's........... 2010 mazda 3
the corksport rear sway bar is on back order (in blue, they had black but, you just cant buy a corksport rsb in black, you just cant) until february 5th, wich is no problem as im in no rush to install it, lol. I looked a bit deeper into coilovers, and I think im going to buy a set thats "not as common". Im looking into the ISC Suspension N1's. The price is good and seems to have the same features as others ( bc, ksport, etc. ) theres a link with the specs at the bottom, and please give some input, I read a small review on a subaru forum and he seemed to love them, better then his megans and his buddy liked them more then his bc's.

Re: 2010maztre's........... 2010 mazda 3
What's your budget? What features are you looking for in a coilover? What do you plan on using them for? What's important to you? Comfort? Adjustability? Quality?
The coilovers above seem nice for the price. If these are the ones garage16 is selling. And if these are really monotube design then I'd choose these over BCs.

yea, im thinking these are the ones im going to get, ive compared them to k-sport, h&r, megan, bc,and neo. these seems to have everything the others offer if not more, for a cheaper price. the more I think about them, the more im wanting them. so I think ill give these a go, they are right in my budget. i'll be using them mostly for street use with the occasional track days.
