Headlight housing fogging
I showed a couple guys at the Oakville mini meet, will try to get pics up soon.
I have an \'04 sedan, and the headlight housing fogged up.
not from condensation, but like the clear plastic has clouded over and is VERY noticable.
Will/can this be replaced under warranty Joe?

My dad\'s 3 had the same problem on the passenger side only. The dealership replaced it under warranty. Have you suffered a blown headlight bulb on that side?

Bring it into your nearest Mazda dealer for inspection.

the seal has gone on the head light. As long as there is no eveidence of damge from road debris.. it is covered.

Interesting. According to this Technical Service Bulletin, this is normal and they are told not to replace the housing.

I don\'t think that\'s what they\'re talking about.
It\'s happening to my driver\'s side housing as well. The actual plastic lens is clouding over. I\'ll mention it @ my next service. Will update progress.

I had tailights replaced under warranty as well as my fog light for fogging issues

Re: Headlight housing fogging
don't mean to bring back a thread from the dead, but searched so yeah.
I noticed something, my headlight fogging gets worse everytime I go through a Touchless Car Wash... its really Fing bad now, take a picture tmr its dark right now. Since it is from carwash, does that mean it is NOT the sealing from my HIDs?

Re: Headlight housing fogging
If it is condensation and the fogging is on the interior, then yes, it means that there is a problem with the seal. Try reseating the bulb and then the rubber boot. Unfortunately, you should remove the bulb and blow some (hot) air into the housing.

Re: Headlight housing fogging
if that doesn't work, you can always go back to the dealer and they should be able to replace it under warranty.. thats how I got mine replaced.
It takes about an hour or so.

Re: Headlight housing fogging
Ontario Mazda said to me that they would not replace mine. I also had the same thing happen on the driver side.

Re: Headlight housing fogging
Depending if you have aftermarket bulbs in and/or your housing is melted, it may be the reason why they wont replace it... I put my stocks back in and complained about the fog issue.. They replaced it for me free of charge.
I take my car to westowne... Its worth the trip!!!

Re: Headlight housing fogging
So is it mean that if i have HID for the headlight, i have to put the stock back before i bring into the dealer?

yes, or else they will think the HIDs/your installation caused the condensation. Mazda might not warranty your housing if they see you have aftermarket bulbs in there.

Re: Headlight housing fogging
Correct me if im wrong, is that condensation not fog? Fog is when its very hazy inside the housing... That isnt that bad because it dissapears in a bit.
-
Re: Headlight housing fogging
yeah sorry condensation...
it never goes away, when when it got warmer (like now), its just as bad.
it gets worse with ever touchless car wash I go to.

Re: Headlight housing fogging
if you still have original h7 bulbs, put 'em in and go to your dealership and ask to replace the housing... On recent posts I mentioned it was free of charge.
Westowne rocks!
