Tired of working. TM3 lottery pool anyone?

I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything, and i'm not sure if this is allowed on TM3 or not. I, for one, am pretty tired of working :chuckle

Just curious as to whether you guys would want to start up a pool to play whenever the jackpot hits the $50mil mark?

We have this at work.. :) 33 people but still no luck.. It would be great if there'd be more people.. I'm down if it's allowed.:bana

I'm in, the only problem is the logistics of it, because someone would have to be in charge, and then collect all the money.

^^ I don't mind doing it, since I'd be playing anyway. There are a few ways to do this, but I much prefer to do Paypal. Everyone just paypals me their entry fee + the paypal service charge (2.9% + $0.30 CAD or about 45 cents on $5).

As long as no mods were to interfere and remove postings or the entire thread I might be interested (considering if the tm3 pool won earnings)

I'd be in for this as well. I see group buy's for lotto tickets all the time on RFD but I have more trust in a smaller community like TM3.

In! I run my office pool. It's a lot of work though.

I think as long as the mods are ok with it, having everything here in "black and white" should make things a little easier. We can debate about the specifics (ie. how much, rules, etc) later. I stress that this is only a "gauging interest" list until we get the green light from TM3 admins.

I know at my work we do this, and we all sign the ticket as proof we are in on the buy? ((This started being done after people at work werent telling there co-workers they were winning))

I didn't add DumpInfo since he wasn't sure yet, but i've included those who have stated that they'd be interested.

With our group, somebody walks in everybody's offices and collects amount ($2 for Lotto Max 50 Million).. Then that person writes down our company name.. In an event where we win the 50 million, we'll just show who's in the list with everybody's signature in it...

For us here, somebody collecting from each member may not be the most efficient way..

One way of doing it is we set a date and time (before Friday's draw) when the "collector" will be collecting the money. Each member will come at that time and day and drop off their portion.. Collector buys the tickets, scans the ticket and put something like "Toronto Mazda 3 Lotto Group" or something of that sort (an official list should be generated with all themembers' names and signatures).. Then collector sends a scanned copy to everybody's email (given that the collector has everyone's email), just so everybody has a copy of the tickets... Then we wait for the draw.. Collector then checks the tickets.. I believe there's a receipt or something when you go get the tickets checked.. Collector then scans that receipt and send to every member, with details on what the results are (winner, loser, whatever :) )..

Well, i'm in the air about picking numbers or not - What do you guys feel about that? I don't mind filling out 17-20 boxes worth of numbers, but if we do 4 plays each ($20), that's a lot of numbers to play :chuckle

Now that we have a half-decent amount of players, maybe what i'll do is start a sub-thread asking for votes on:

1) Number of plays per person
2) Number selection?
3) Lay down some ground-rules

1) I'm good with 4 plays.
2) Better chance of hitting something if we have our own numbers but as you said, filling out 60+ boxes will get to you. :)
3) Maybe we all do it by turns if possible.. One does for this week then next week, somebody else does it and so on. So everyone will get a chance... Equal shares, meaning everybody will pitch in the same amount.

That's what I think so far. :)

I'd vote for quick pick. Don't want to make it too complicated.
