Sorry here is a pic, forgot to add this in.
hope it drives as well as it looks! I also hope the production model doesn't differ too much from the concept
If so, this is very tempting.
Mazdaspeed6 or fail!!
Bring back the speed6!
Now that is one sexy mz6.
better if it was 2-door
Interesting.....I thought this was the Shinari concept with speculation that it would be the new RX. Wonder if it will really be the Mazda6 or not.

honestly, going with trends from other car companies I could see mazda trying to fuse the 6/rx8 car lines, not completely, but to share much of the same form. With the 6 being the economical family style sedan while the rx8 being the more sport coupe style. In my mind it would be a great way to buy time while they develop the "rotary engine of the future"
oooh I hope the next gen 3's look similar to this.... love the front end... looks PISSED!!!
This looks really good
looks awesome!! love it.
Holy H-E double hockey sticks..... that looks crazy.....trade in....hmmm
I might be the only one to hold this particular opinion...but I don't think it looks nice at all. The black massive plastic front grill reminds me of something off a Yukon minus the chrome. Otherwise the car doesn't look BAD, but for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me as much as even the previous 6's do. The interior, while it looks pretty cool probably is not going to end up looking how it does in the photograph...another thing to keep in mind..
Overall, not a bad car, but not the best either...I for one will be very interested to see the technology Mazda puts in this car, as I have a feeling it'll either make it or break it.

After looking at this some more, I see there is a lot of room between the front of the car and the front two wheels.
This may suggest a bad Front/rear weight distribution, so I am worried about understeer from this car. If there was an engine bay picture, it will give us a better idea.
edit: but then again this isn't Audi, so there shouldn't be cause to worry.
Its really just a fair bit of front overhang...... unless the engine is spaced out there it shouldn't cause a huge imbalance.
Does this help?

The midsize sedan concept adopts Mazda's latest Kodo design language in a conventional three-box shape that could provide a preview of what to expect from the next 6. The show car packs the company's SkyActiv-D diesel engine (a 2.2-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder with a lowered compression ratio for a 20 per cent improvement in efficiency over a conventional oil-burner) with stop-start engine management and regenerative braking – a new feature for Mazda.
Is it just me or does the rear end scream Sonata?
Its only *slightly* Sonata-ish because of the general shape of the tail-lights, however they have a wicked concave shape to them which is very unique. Add in a mini-BMW/Bangle trunklid and you've got a decently unique rear end.
Sadly I wouldn't hold my breath that a car which looks this good will still be as good-looking when it goes to production.
If it did though.. SWEET!
And I also look forward to the next-gen/less happy-smiley/more aggressive-looking version of the 3!
I like it, very sleek. I may be a bit off but there are some attributes that remind me of a Jaguar.
I personally really like it. I think they did an excellent job with the new design.
Mazda showed its Takeri concept at the Tokyo Auto Show today. The Takeri, a derivative of the Japanese word for “male,” appears to be the long awaited replacement for the Mazda6. The show vehicle was loaded up with Mazda's Skyactiv diesel engine and an all-new regenerative braking system that stores energy in capacitors instead of a battery.

Toronto auto show sucks compared to the ones they have in Europe and Asia

I'm sure they'll have this at the Toronto Auto Show this year.... hopefullyyyy :)

The two should probably be merged.

Wow.. Looks lik the Shinari
It's now just recently confirmed that we'll see this in Spring 2013. It will be sold as a 2014. This Fall, everyone will finally have a view of the production version :)
