Heart for Hearth (2013) - West End Pre-meet Sept 22nd, 2013 (mississauga)

Where: 885 Britannia Rd W, Mississauga, ON L5V 2X8


When: 4:45-5:15 AM
We will be leaving at 5:15 AM SHARP!
We will be arriving at 6:15 AM at Oshawa Municipal Airport.

Directions incase you get lost from the other Mazda's on the road.
1: 401 East bound
2: Stevenson Road S (Turn left/North)
3: Drive until you get to this fork in the road, and make a left. You will find other Mazda's



It is highly recommended you bring an frs radio so that you can communicate during the drive.
Channel 3 is for club/important convoy communication in case an accident or something similar has occurred.
Channel 4 is for your shenanigans.

Yeah, not yours am fault . Our event takes place on the south side, and the 5k on the runway occurs on the north side.

NICKZGRL, last year I dont remember who organized the west end pre-meet but we ended up merging with the brampton/toronto mazdas on the hwy.
It would be cool if we could get a hold of everyone and merge again. Just an idea. :D

ya thats deffinately not a problem.
when ever these pre meets start i wil keep an eye and try to make it work.

Guys, given the number of cars, it would actually be helpful to the event day team, if the West & East meets did not join up. We need time to get everyone through check in.

Is this the official west end meet? Just seeing because the East meet is going strong and I know last year the west end was keeping up with them. Also are the meet and arrival times final? It seems too early and I know the meeting of pre meets will make it difficult for intake once arrived but that is one of the best/fun parts of the event (cruising with tones of Mazda 3's). So maybe we can time departure to meet either north or east meets? I can wake up after you guys have already left, drive to the east meet and still have tones of time before they leave. Just some thoughts..................

as stated on the heart for heath page checkin time wil start at 6:15am. with so many cars arriving. i felt it would have been best for us to arrive earlier to make sure everything stays on time and we dont create too much work for the event staff.
also as mention by Ami already. he would prefer if we do not all arrive at once as it makes it harder for the event staff.

if anyone has suggestions i am open to listen and make changes as needed. i want everyone to enjoy them selfs

I'm all for making it a tad later -- the east end meet is obviously closer, so they can meet later... and the aforementioned "not everyone showing up at the same time and creating a bottleneck" issue makes sense. However 4:30 does seem super early... what if we met at 5:00 to leave by 5:30? That should still leave plenty of time.

Plus I might get less complaining about the hour from my gf. ;) "We have to wake up at WHAT TIME for a car meet?!?! You better let me eat in the car..." lol.

i can understand your position with your gf. my wife is not very happy either with that early. shes still excited though.
we are abt an hour give or take from the airport so if we leave by 5.30 we will arrive the same as the east and looks like north end.
i can push us to 5.15 too make a bit better and still not jam up in oshawa.
so meet up will be at 4.45
and we will leave by 5.15
this gives a half hour window for people to arrive before we leave and still make a reasonable time to oshawa
anybody else have suggestions?

my lady isn't happy about the time either but she really wants to go!! look the way i see this, one time most people will wake up so early to meet up and go for a cruise down to h4h. sure people will be grumpy about it, but don't worry you will enjoy it and probably willl feel it's worth it!!

If you'd wake up at 4am for a cruise to the Bahamas why not do it for a cruise to H4h?

so much confusion as to whether or not this thread is the official pre-meet thread, but i think it's because the opening post is just a block of words. doesn't really look attractive and official. same with the title of the thread.

i'd suggest that a mod fix it up a bit, even if it means copying josh's post from the East end meet thread.

@S.F.W. remember how you did a mass e-mail thing to get more people to register for this event. is it possible to do the same type of thing for these pre meets to get memebers signed up as the big day is soon here!

There is a mass email going out tomorrow afternoon to all registered(paid or not paid participants).
I am cutting off registration around 12:30pm tomorrow, then will send out the email.

Why is this year's pre meet so out of the way and no where near the 401. The convoy will get lost on the way to the highway due to all the traffic lights. Why not use the same location as last year (Hurontario and 401)

i will not be takig everyone across the main rds for that reason. you can leave out the back side and only have to go though 1 stop light and a stop sign. its abt 3km to the highway. i dont feel that is far. its not much different then the previous location. and it is only 1 exit west from the previous location.

that early in the morning we should be ok I think.
