  1. Re: Brake Fluid performance vs cost, Mazda interval maintenance

DOT5.1 will work fine too, and probably better for those up north... it's designed to work well with ABS pumps in the cold, as it won't thicken up... it ought to also let the clutch cylinders work...
  2. Re: Brake Fluid performance vs cost, Mazda interval maintenance

for most people, the cheap castrol DOT4 (used to be called GTLMA) works good enough... if you're in an emergency, the Prestone DOT4 from walmart works in a bind... everything else that's worth...
  3. Re: Batter problem or is this normal? 2014 M3GT

get it recharged and tested... you should also check the electrolyte level before you recharge it... top up with distilled water only... do not fill to the brim.... there should be max level marks on...
  4. Re: The is the BEST Oil Filter for your car OEM Mazda / Aftermarket / Performance

think very carefully about "high flow"... usually that means less filtering, because that's less resistance..... something you don't really need for the street... for racing, probably, because oil...
  5. Re: The is the BEST Oil Filter for your car OEM Mazda / Aftermarket / Performance

read what you said, and think about that very carefully... you'll see that is complete nonsense, because it's clear that engineers know better than you, since there are some OEM filters for some cars...
  6. Re: The is the BEST Oil Filter for your car OEM Mazda / Aftermarket / Performance

you're making a mountain out of a mole hill... an anti-drainback valve is only needed if the filter is inverted or sideways... the filters on all the 3s, of all 4 generations are installed with the...
  7. Re: The is the BEST Oil Filter for your car OEM Mazda / Aftermarket / Performance

    TLDW

sticking to OEM filters, because they work and are very good

no... the elevation differences are small, and even then, the ECU compensates for slight differences... this isn't a carburetted car, where you have to retune the carb to go up a mountain
  9. View Post

you need to stop looking at everything, and start looking at your accessport first
any time you screw around with the ECU tuning, weird things can happen

Re: Problem with oil 5w50 sn

your engine has an oil cooler, so it is not necessary to run super thick oil to compensate for high heat... in fact, the owner's manual recommendation is based on conventional motor oil, not...

Re: Problem with oil 5w50 sn

nothing is stated on the cap.... that's a US/Canada thing only
50 weight oil is one of the listed "recommended" oils in the non-US owner's manual... just a copy and paste from older owner's manuals...
  12. Re: Brake pads : OEM Pads vs Aftermarket performance

aftermarket "performance" brake pads are not always better than the stock OEM pads.... many of them are street pads that are biased towards good initial bite, that gives the perception that they work...

  14. Re: No Crank after throttle body cleaning 2005 2.0L

in the future, work smarter, not harder.... taking out the intake manifold to clean it is a big waste of time/effort... just get an engine induction cleaner or seafoam and have it sucked in through a...

    Re: 2007 Mazda 3 2.3L - terrible mileage

K&N filter could be the culprit... the 1st gen 3s don't play well with aftermarket intakes.... they could get bad readings due to air turbulence and cause the engine to run bad/rich

    in any case,...
  16. Re: Does Jiffy Lube carry a Mazda atf M-V fluid?

they won't, unless they bought from the dealer... it's a very rare fluid... they will use whatever aftermarket "compatible" fluid available.... not sure if jiffy lube does a flush or drain and fill,...

  18. Re: Part number for kyb rear shocks for gen 1 speed 3

that's because what you got and what you're trying to find are for REGULAR 3s... their dampening rates are not meant for a lowered for or stiffer springs that come stock on the MS3... that's why your...

Re: Slave cylinder fail fail fail !!!

real mechanics wouldn't buy a line from the dealer, they would get a straight pipe, bend it to shape, then flare the ends themselves... it will be the exact or similar to original part

congrats... it's a much better car than the 2nd gen, in every way.. it's the start of the most reliable mazda3s since then

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!

ok genius, since you want to split hairs: Bosch, AC Delco, etc don't supply batteries to Mazda, so they're not OEM or "OE"... Interstate, Kirkland, etc don't make batteries either, they're just...

    OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer
Bosch, Exide, Interstate, etc. are NOT OEM
Panasonic is an Original Equipment Supplier, which supplies to Mazda, the Original Equipment Manufacturer

Re: 2007 speed 3 engine oil in coolant-help
