Posting pictures.
When trying to post photos here (or any form) new users invariably trip up with a few common mistakes.
DO:
- Use the attachments option when composing your post. This will live forever on the forum and avoids broken links down the road.
- Use a third-party free image-hosting site. Flickr, Imageshack, Photobucket, Tinypic are common examples. These are usually reliable in the long-term and you can use the link in multiple forums. Grab the [img] code that the site provides, or right-click on the image and use that in the Insert Image option when composing your post.
DON'T:
- Try to upload a photo from your computer in the Insert URL or Insert Image pop-up. This will not work.
- Link an image from Facebook or other sites where your account is likely not completely public. This will not work.
Failure to read these guidelines may result in good-natured flaming by myself and others. Happy posting!
