    Default mazda3 + f150 = no good

on sdaturday i was turining into a driveway to check out some tint. there was a brief "****" moment just before impact. i was spun 180 and about 3 lar lengths out and up onto the sidewalk on the driveway of the next plaza; lickilly i wasnt thrown into curbs. more importantly no one was hurt!!

all this happened in stony creek but fortunately i was able to get it towd out to Notion Autobody in pickering so i know a good job will be done with full replacement of everything. I was fortunate enopugh to know these guys allready so i was able to have the owner come out on a weekend and check it out for me and get it inside since i have to be back in hamilton for school.

heres one pic of it ill have more to come probably. the damage sustained on the f15 was front fender, front lip of the door, all front plastic, rad support and rebar. damn framed cars.

Holy crap. That looks pretty bad. Sorry to hear! Hope you can get it fixed fast. I don't know much about damaged cars... but at what point do they write it off? In terms of structure not $.

kitten, it was on barton st in stony creek about 2 blocks west of millen ave. it was kinda near grays i guess.

from what the bodyshop has told me from just a quick visual inspection its gonna be at least $5k. weather its a write off or not thats for the insurance to decide. personally from my observations the damage is pretty isolated to that corner of the car but i wont know for sure till its on the rack and measured. luckilly the rear suspension in these cars bolts up as one unit an does not completly rely on the straightness of the surrounding metal.

I was thinking of the intersection of Grays and Hwy 8 because thats where I got my tint done (Tint Boys) and how you described the plaza I was thinking of that

I remember when I got rear ended, the back bumper mounts HAD to be replaced. Said the insurance quote, and those suckers are stupid expensive. I think from being hit in that corner, your bill of repair could be enough to be a write off...cosmetic perhaps?

also i dont know if anyone has used their included 4yr. mazda roadside asistance but its absolutly crap. they claimed that my car doesnt even come up in their system but somehow i have all the paperwork form them with all my account info from them. i quickly gave up on them and anded up using someones caa for the tow from stony creek to pickering

SHIT that sucks man! I hope it's not too expensive to fix. Good thing the crash didn't require side air bags...then again you don't have any in the '04 but it would have been really expensive!

    Glad you're ok

I was thinking the same thing..

Plus what ever damage is below the surface, first indication is the movement on the rear seat.

sweet just got everything sorted out with the insurance and i dont have to pay out any deductible and my rates wont be affected either because i was technically rearended so its deemed no fault.

At least you weren't at fault, your rates won't go up which is nice. Good thing you weren't hurt and hopefully you end up with a new car!

damn glad to see you're ok. Glad the insurance co. didn't try to bend ya over. Hope everything works out well for you. Also go see a Dr. as there might be some soft tissue damage that wont show up for a little while.

    Really?
When I had my hit and run and had to have my car towed from Mississauga to Hamilton on a cold January night they were VERY prompt and we even requested a flat bed which they sent out.

I was actually very impressed with the roadside as it basically is CAA
