    Default Black Centre Caps

    Good afternoon,

I recently powder-coated some RX-8 wheels semi-gloss black. I'm looking at buying some black center caps. I browsed the internet, and it looks like PN KD51-37-190 should fit.

Problem is I'm not sure of the year the RX-8 rims were on, it's definitely older, maybe 2005-2009? I cannot contact the person who I bought them from as I deleted the email account due to it spamming.

Hope someone could steer me in the right directions.

    Thanks

I actually found some black centre caps at a Mazda Dealership(Westowne in Toronto) . If I recall correctly, I think I was charged 20 or 30 dollars for the set. Mine were a speed rim but the dealerships should have what you're looking for.

I did call the dealer but without the year they were not helpfull...I might just bite the bullet and order the PN I think will work. It's $20, worst case scenario.

Irishunchik and I just Plasti-Dipped our centre caps. Good enough for us.

i say just paint them. the mazda logos easilly come off unless theyre like the older mazda 3 center caps.

thats how i did mine and painted the mazda logos blue, turned out good, only thing is now (2 years) the blue is starting to chip off but the black is perfect still

not the best pic but here it is

Thanks for the info guys. I rolled the dice with the other caps and they did not properly fit. I'm getting the right ones I just will have to paint them. Once I have more, I upload pics.

I'm being extremely picky these are my first ever rims bahahaha

Any downside to not running any caps at all? Can't really find ones that I find suitable for my setup (yet).

Lots of patience so you don't break the clips. I'm not aware of any trick to it.

its not that hard. if i remember correctly there are 4 or 2 clips on each one. did it 2 years ago so not sure exactly

take a small screwdriver and just undo them from the back and itll pop off, i think in all 8 centre caps i did, i broke one. and the logo is still on the centre cap and couldn't even tell you what one it was, so even if you break one, its all good.

You could probably just use emblem tape (thin doublesided tape) to stick it back on.

There are 4 clips on the back if you turn it around. Take a screwdriver with a pointy tip and hold the cap tightly while pushing them out one by one. It's the best way to do it without having to worry about breaking the clips. I made the mistake of prying them off from the front the first time and broke a few, but honestly on one emblem there's only one clip left and it's been on there forever.

Thanks man. I'm going to try this tonight on a few spare garbage centre caps I have before I mess with my new ones.
