Haha it could happen. I see them without all the time. At least two today, one being my identical twin of when I was stock. Late first gen, no spoiler, copper red, fogs, even down to the rare ugly 16" wheels I had.

Got my spoiler painted again. The car looks good but sounds like sh*t, been in the shop since Saturday.. Broken Passenger Motor mount, ticking/pinging from top left of motor so the shop has top half of engine in pieces, checking lifters.. seem good, water pump.. seems fine, now they checking timing chain and tensioner.. They also looked at Purge valve too, seems clean with no damage or wear.
The ticking is mostly noticible at certain rpm's and light throttle, the techs are stumped and say they want to send the car to mazda as they have no idea.. Can't wait for the bill

Any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated.

As funny as it sounds remove the engine cover. Maybe it's flapping

been off for a while now, kind of sounds like a small piece of metal bouncing around inside top passenger side of motor near belt system

Check your warranty. Mine broke within the last year and was still covered.

Just got it back today, motor mount replaced, timing chain, tensioner and guides replaced.. and money spent for no results.
I still owe 3 years on this car through financing and ready just to give up on it.

Take it to jimmy...same sound on my first gen before...sadly jimmy said my engine was a walking time bomb..

Not sure if it would help, but in my buddies 305 in his firebird, he put oil in his valve cover and helped a bit. Not sure if that's possible on an mz3 though

The wife and I decided that if warranty company replaces or not, Onyx will be taken off the road and parted out to go towards paying her off and will start over next season with a 2nd gen Speed or STI

Mazda will be, and hoping that my 3rd party warranty will cover it, and if they do we still think we want to keep it off the road and sell or use for trade in after we pay her off in less then a year.. not 100%

Might have to change her name to a stripper name because she looks good on the outside, but dead on the inside

If this is the case, you sure getting a speed3 or STI is a good move?

They are not cheap cars to own or maintain

Yea I'm sure, just meant I spent a bunch of money for timing assembly and so on and the next day have to spend 93/hr.. its done I paid and I'm fine its my daughters bday weekend so I didn't want to be spending a ton of money on 2007 pos.. won't mind when its something I really want
