Alright fellas; it's that time of the year again!

I think last year was a good start; hoping we can get a good showing for this time as well.



So, here's a call-out to anyone that would be interested in joining a fantasy basketball league. I'll be setting up a private league, and will invite you all once we're closer to the date, and will manage the league accordingly. Regardless of experience/skill, if interested, join up! We had a couple newbies last year, and they managed just fine.

The specifics for the league are definitely open to suggestions, but based on past experience, I was thinking the following:
League would be done under Yahoo Fantasy Sports (No account? No worries! It's an easy process.)
Scoring Type: Rotisserie
Max Teams: 12
Min Teams: 6 (I've done as low as 6 before, and it wasn't as exciting as 8,10,12. The more the better!)
Draft: Live Standard Draft (We can decide on specific day/time once interest has been generated.)
Roster Positions: PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN
Players Stat Categories: Field Goal Percentage, Free Throw Percentage, 3-point Shots Made, Points Scored, Total Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocked Shots, Turnovers

(I recall the positions and stat categories being changed last year; just couldn't remember what you guys had preferred. So please feel free to voice your suggestions once again)

Hoping to get some feedback soon (would ideally like everything setup in a few weeks; figured I'd put this out there early to generate some more interest). Next steps would be me creating our private league, you guys joining, and then deciding on a draft day/time.

I can explain a bit. The league settings are set for scoring categories- i.e. - points, assits, rebounds, blocks, etc. Everyone participates in the draft, and drafts there team, with each player only being assignable to one team.
Once you draft your team in a Head To Head league, you are matched up against another player each week. Whoever wins the most categories for the week wins the week. i.e. - I have more points and assists than you, but you have more rebounds. I would win the matchup 2-1.
You need to set your line up each day, or once for the week. Deciding who to play which days.
You can also make roster changes, by dropping players in favour of those available in the free agent or waiver wire. You can also propose trades to other players.

It doesn't take too long to make an account at all. I'm hoping to have hit our 12 people (or as many as possible) within a couple weeks tops, so that I can set out a draft time after that, and we can get underway when the season starts.

Cool. No worries if you can't; once we have the people required, I'll have you guys let me know your forum name and the fantasy league team name that you're associated with so it's easy for me and others to keep track of. Specially when we start trash talking our head-to-head opponents haha

to make it a little more competitive, how about, everyone in puts int a small amount of money (5, 10, 20?, etc). At the end of the year, Winner take all, or 1st place gets 'x' amount and 2nd gets 'y' amount. Just a suggestion? Maybe we could all send the money to the same account as we did for heart for hearth? At the end of the year, Ami could distribute the money accordingly to the winner(s) of the league. Of course everyone would have to be down to put some money. What does everyone think about that?

edit: It will also keep the league more serious. I've been in previous leagues where, one or more team has a bad start, so they just give up after the first 2-3 weeks.
