Oh damn, that sucks. Oh well, I stopped reading the Speed section because according to certain people only speed owners are allowed to even look at that section.

@pwdunmore which meth kit were you running pat?

Snow Performance Stage 2 MAF on a 50/50 meth/water mix.
I spoke to the senior technician, he said he was getting a lot of pumps back from colder climates so he thinks that having the mixture "sit" in the pumps over winter (because meth barely comes on) can cause deposits and the rubber seal to soften. Which can cause the pump to seize because the bearings can't spin with all the deposits around them. The seals and parts are methanol resistant not methanol proof. If the mixture runs through the pump on a regular bases it stops this from happening or slows the process at least.
They gave me a good price on a replacement because for warranty you need to ship at our own expense... because Canada... So I just bought a new one and I will take apart my old one to diagnose what went wrong. @miako

No problem, I am definitely draining my pump next winter so this doesn't happening again.

or you can just hit boost in winter
I drive the same in winter and in summer lol
Obviously when there's snow on the ground (which is rare for Toronto) that's a different story

There's quite a few things on MSF (ie. American) that I don't think quite apply with our climate up here. A few off the top of my head is boost tuned maps aka v231 stupidity, some of the fluids to use (in some ways I think the magic ford stuff isn't so magic in the cold), some of the noise/suspension related fixes, rust and resilience of parts in the salt, etc. It's an interesting topic.

Hey all,
So I dropped the car off at Street Performance on Friday, for Jimmy to put in a few pieces for me, OCC, seals and camber arms, and when I got the car back, the climate controls were all funky and had many a button on. I put everything back to status quo, chalking it up to the battery being disconnected. But it now seems like the air circulation is very weak and the venting mode button isn't working with the same accuracy. Do any of you have any experience with this happening after a seal or OCC install?? I don't think either has direct relation to the climate and venting, but nothing else has been done in months.
This is no way a critique of Jimmy, his service is/was excellent as always, but even he's not sure?? Any help's appreciated!

@mazda3t
So as not to clutter your fs thread, if you want a valve that sounds close to stock, why don't you stick with the stock valve. What is your reasoning for switching?
