Car: 2006 Mazda 3 GT Sport
A/S/L etc etc: 26, Male (first time vehicle owner), single, Durham Region, 1 ticket in the past 3 years (speeding), $500 deduct.,

TD Meloche Monnex quote including GT Solution: $128 per month!

I need to look into Bel Air Directs $0 deductible solution, anyone know anything about it?

****UPDATE: Just got an online quote from Bel Air Direct, apparently I am eligible for Zero Deductible, cost is a bit more than TD, $143 per month, $15 more per month for Zero Deductible what say you?

    2006 GT, $176 / month. 1 claim, no fault. 1 ticket \"failing to stop\".
    Until July (25th b-day), I was paying a crazy $312 / month.
    \"Secondary\" driver.
    Direct Protect (I think.)

Actually, I\'ve yet to see a single post in this thread that has any relevence whatsoever. Every post has been way too vague to get any meaningful information. If you want to seriously compare apples to apples, you have to answer all of these questions (and this isn\'t even a complete list):

    Details

    - Location
    - age
    - gender
    - Is this driver a full time post-secondary student living away from their parent or guardian\'s home?
    - How far away is the parent or guardian\'s home from where this student lives?
    - licence type
    - length of time of current licence type
    - Did this driver ever hold a G2 licence?
    - When was the G2 licence received?
    - Has this driver\'s licence been suspended in the last 6 years?
    - Has this driver had any accidents, tickets, or claims while owning, using or operating a vehicle?
    - How many accidents or accident-related claims has this driver had in the last 10 years?
    - How many tickets (convictions) has this driver had in the last 3 years, excluding parking tickets?
    - How many non-accident insurance claims (like theft or windshield claims) has this driver made in the past 6 years?
    - What\'s the make of the vehicle?
    - What year is the vehicle?
    - What\'s the model of the vehicle?
    - About how many kilometres is it driven each year?
    - About how many kilometers is it driven to work/school? (one way)
    - About how many kilometres is it driven for business each year?
    - What type of theft protection device does this vehicle have?
    - Where is this vehicle primarily garaged or parked while at your home?
    - Are you eligible for any discounts? (i.e., multi-line discount, multi-vehicle discount, loyalty discount)

    Coverages

    - Comprehensive deductible?
    - Collision deductible?
    - Liability limit?
    - OPCF 20 (loss of use)?
    - Any Others?

You can see from all the questions that it is really hard to compare eachother\'s insurance premiums. The best way to tackle insurance quotes is to start with a site like www.kanetix.com. Getting a broker is a good idea as well. And remember, not all claims services are equal.

I had to pay some guy $300.00 for him to find me the cheapest insurance and i'm not sure what company it is i'll have to check the insurance slip but it's some miscellaneous company. I'm at $550.00/month and that's half of what the quote was with some of the bigger names...

    Exactly!
It also depends which area you live in - we, living in big bad TO, get the worst of it.
I got my renewal from TD insurance in January and my insurance rate went up by $30/month!

    Damn!

I am with Wawanesa, paying $165/month. When I first for my car last year, I was paying $270/month. I am 30, no accidents. It is so expensive because I had not had insurance for the past 5 years.

Sort of. 3 of my friends all drive identical Sunfires so we just got one policy and fabbed up 2 extra sets of plates.

All the coverage for 1/4 the price. Nobody ever checks the VIN...
