    Post Wheel Alignment Report

    Hi everyone,

I recently had a wheel alignment at a shop recommended by other TM3 members. Everything went smoothly, and a print out was provided, but I was in a hurry so I couldn't stay to ask too many questions. After completing all my errands, I took a closer look at the report and I have a few questions. I have never done a wheel alignment before, but I did do some research about the terms (ex. caster, camber, toe, SAI, etc) so I am familiar with their function. Also, keep in mind this is really just for my own personal curiosity, something new for me to learn!

    Quick Facts:
    - 2012 Mazda 3 Skyactiv hatchback, 100% stock.

    Questions:
1.) Does it matter where the Final values for Caster, Camber, Toe, and SAI/Included Angle are with respect to the Specifications? Is it better to be at the median or is this irrelevant?
2.) What is side-to-side angle? Is it referring to the difference between left and right?
3.) Do Left and Right measurements need to match?

    The Alignment Report:

    Thank you in advance!

    1) The final values should fall within the specification range.

    2) I must be blind, but I don't see "Side-to-side" angle listed anywhere on that sheet.

    3) No.

    1) As long as it's within range, you're fine. It's just personal preference as to whether or not you want them in the median or not. Either/or is acceptable.

    2) I assume you mean "Total" which is just the values between left/right added together.

    3) No. Though, they do normally make an effort to make them close so you don't feel it "pull" to one side or the other.
