Yes. Might after to slightly alter the length if you care about that, but otherwise will fit just fine.

Yes. If you want to run a decently sized tire, I'd pick the first option out of those two. With the height you're at, you'd definitely need an aggressive roll with the second choice if you put a decently wide tire on it.

If you don't want to roll your fenders, don't run a crazy ass size wheel.

I ran 18x7.5 +48 in my gen one with 225/40/18 tires..

although thread title appears to suit this question, this is the wheels and tires section.

Either way you got an answer

Ruined one of my tires today which needs to be replaced.

Currently I am on 205/40/17 tires on a 17x8.25 +35 rim. I want a beefier tire that isn't as much of a slim tire which I have currently. I need advice on what size of tire would be best,I'm thinking 215/45/17 would get me what I'm thinking as it would get my tire closer to the end of the rim and a bit taller? Car is a 2012 Mazda 3 currently on Prokits but will be switching over to BC Coilovers once they arrive.

I should also note that the current tires put my speedometer out by 3 or 4 km faster than I am going

    Picture for reference

^ well first off, how low do you intend to go once you get your BC's in? If you're going significantly lower, then tire choice will change accordingly.

The prokits gave me less than an inch of a drop, most of my drop currently came from having such small tires, so I'm going to say I'd like a 2" drop.

For now I'm going to keep the current set up and replace the tire that is damaged no point spending more money than I need to at this point. I will wait till the rest of the tires need changing to figure out what needs to be done.

Hey guys I had a question. I'm looking at a set of used winter tires and rims that came off a 2012 Kia rondo.

Both are 205 60 16, 6.5x16, 5x114.3. But what's throwing me off is the ET (I'm not sure what that is). The rondo ET is 42 while my Mazda 3 is et50. Can someone help explain the difference to me. Yeah I'm pretty much a noon =)

I need new tires though. The ones on right now are loud as heck. Falken Talons lol. If anyone selling summer tires i need 225/40/18

I also need hub rings. Is it bad not to have hub rings if they are hubcentric? No vibrations at all on highspeed but i just want to be safe and all.

I've run non-hubcentric wheels without rings and had no problems; I've also run some without rings and had vibrations in the steering wheel. It's not a big deal if you don't feel anything, and if you do, get the rings installed.

    Gen 1 lowered on prokits.

    Primarily looking at this:
    18x8 5x114.3 +40
    Roll? Is the offset OK?

Also looking at these but I think they won't work

    17x8 5x114.3 +35.
    17x7 5x114.3 +42

Offset is wrong correct in both instances?

It all depends on the tire size you want. Essentially if you lower on any mild springs like pro kits, cobb, CS, etc. You need to stay under 8.5" wide and less than +35 offset in the rear without rolling the fenders. Fronts can be a little more aggressive without rolling. But like I said, all depends on the tire. If you run a 225/40 on the 18x8's you won't rub and it will perform well.

Thanks @tanspeed3. I can get the 18x8s in a +35 offset instead of +40. Would that help the rear? Im New to this.

BTW I am going by the offsets recommended in the rim FAQ thread in wheels and tires section and it recommends and offset between +40 & +50 for 18x8....

Higher the offset of the wheel, the less aggressive the fitment is. So a low offset wheel like a +12 say, will sit much closer to the fender than a +42 will. Well, 30mm to be exact lol

Then your answer is wrong. I had to roll my fenders quite aggressively to get my wheels to fit on a Gen1 speed3, but maybe because rubbing under any circumstances is not acceptable to me

Even changing to a different tire brand makes a big difference. Some tires fit wider than others. I found that out the hard way ahah
