I drove from Toronto to St Catherine's and back and it was about 300 km. I used only about quarter tank. attached is a pick I took at quarter but from the angle it looks it was under 3 quarter but I assure it, it was at a quarter. Now I am at half with only 100 more km.

So full to 3 quarter was 190 km and then 3 quarter to half was basically 100 km.

sucks, I thought buying a import would improve my gas mileage, not stay the same as a 99 sunfire.

In the summer driving 95% highway, and shifting between 2.5 and 3.5k, doing maybe 115-120, I average 600 - 620 kms, per 45-50 litres (I don't have the guts letting it get any lower than that). That equals 7.2 - 8.3 litres/100 kms

In the winter, on winter tires, and rims with the same driving habits, I average about 550 kms.

I just thought that I would post this. I took this pic today. Personally I don't think it means much without mentioning other variables. But here it is anyway...

    not bad ^^^.

since i've installed my exhaust. i've actually noticed a bit of a gain in mileage...

my first tank lasted 515 and well into the reserve.

my 2nd tank lasted about 475 just started into the reserve.

on my 3rd tank right now and i'm at 400kms with about 1/5-1/4 tank left.

Looks like you only have 801 km on your car. My car's milage per gallon greatly improved as it pass 1500km and up. It should improve in time.

Hopefully that's the same case for the MS3s. It's still in break in process, I only have about ~400km. We'll see how it goes. Then again, my foot tend to be pretty heavy time to time on gas pedal.

Don't forget... at 15+ psi of boost, when you put your foot down you're burning gas at about the same rate as a 4.6+L V8.

Thats from the shift of the gas in the tank. Same thing happens on a hill.

you know what, i really dont know how you guys get 500km+ per tank, i dont even come near, not even once, i get 400 whether i drive it hard or i baby it, winter or summer, theres no difference, and honestly how much more gas does it eat if i hammer the pedal everytime? would i b able to get close to 500 when i usually get 400km? seems like we have different cars imo lol

I'm on my 2nd tank of gas after I got the car. First tank was on Mazda, it last for approximately 370km until the light came up. Right now I'm on last 1/4 of the tank the trip meter is at 320km. It seems like I'll be getting about 400km this time before the light comes up.
Than again, I'm still in break in process, the car only have about ~700km.

It doesn't make sense regular 2.3 only get 400km when 2.3 DISI is lasting for about 400km in break in period!

I see a lot of people guaging their economy by when the light comes on.

I routinely go 100 km after the light comes on before filling up and still have 5-10 litres in the tank when I do. You can go at least 70 km after you hit E.

The guage is set up so that you have to be either very unlucky, or very stupid to run out.

I average between 7-8.5 litres / 100 kms depending on where and how I drive

How far is you average trip? ie. short runs around town or long drive at a constant speed?

Just finishing my 1st tank today and we got to 390 when the light went on. Averaged about 11.5L/100 or so says the computer. Not bad for the 1st tank, but given some break in time, I'm sure it'll get much better. I do almost all city driving, so I'm semi-happy. Coming from a '94 civic without AC, it's a little hard to judge what's good.

I think most everyone here experienced poor mileage for the first little while, your right it'll get better has the engine breaks in.Since you do mostly city driving I would impress on you to change to synthetic oil at your first oil change, whenever you decide that will be....it will help.

It will in the sense of ultimate protection and I can only speak for myself, when I say I noticed a slight improvement in my fuel mileage but again if anyone is doing mostly city driving which is by far much harder on engines as opposed to hwy driving, I think synthetic is a must.

3rd tank on the new GT hatch and I got 300km to half tank. This was primarily city driving with only about 90km on the highway. I was also somewhat aggressive with the throttle at times. There were no redline accelerations, but some pushing 5000rpms...Trying to break her in nicely...

BTW, I never let the car go down to the light, so my numbers will always be to the half tank line...

I don't know how relevant this is, but I think my average consumption on the computer thingy is 10.9 right now.
