    Default Hankook IceBear W300

I just put on a set of 205/55/16 Hankook IceBear W300. Anyone knows how they perform on wet/snow/ice conditions? Also, how\'s is the treadwear on it?

(I\'ll try & post some pics w/ the CR EVO-7 rims later on)

ive had them for one season. amazing tires for snow compared to teh rsa\'s. u pull the handbrake in snow with the rs-a\'s and u can expect to spin around, with the w300\'s i pull the handbrake in snow and nothing happens, stays straight, its really amazinggg

why is everyone putting on winters so early!!!! im thinking late november/beginning december, i think im going to be screwed

haha.. thx majic. I\'ve looked in there and mostly are price compares, wanna get some reviews from Mz3-ers who\'ve used them... (ie. you)

I\'m putting \'em on early only caz I want some time to break them in, and I needa trade the stock RSAs while its still new.

Hey bubu check spelling on Arctic White.

I have the set and I\'ve already put mine on... Problem is that I\'m already missing my summers (it\'s been 2 days). If you can, wait \'til early December to put on ur snow tires... I\'m probably gonna switch my summer tires back before this weekend

Thx a lot for picking that up.
Normally I put on winters in Dec. I only put these on now caz I can get $$ trading in the stocks. If I wait any longer, I\'ll get less $ for them. :p

    wtf?

breaking in your winter tires? to my knowledge thats as effective as me \"breaking-in\" my tostitos \"scoops\" and medium salsa

it just wears them down which is not what u want correct?!

Last Saturday\'s Toronto Star Wheels did a test of all season\'s vs winters and one of the facts they stated was that at 7\'C, all seasons and winters have the same traction on dry pavement. Below that, winters grip better even on dry (cold) pavement(regardless of brand, tread, model etc.). So far temps are staying above that, but it is coming.

I have them and I am very happy with them and so does my brother on his RSX.
We bought them from Tires 23 as well
They have served me well. Seems the tread holds up well I drive from Hamilton to Mississauga every day for work and they are still good.
I think it is still early to put them so if you\'re worried about tread wear I\'d wait it out...

i just got a set of w300's and im puzzled.. are they directional tires??
    like this..

because right now on my car 2 tires' tread pattern are facing front and the other 2 are facing to the rear

They are not directional tires - just asymmetric, meaning that there is a difference between the inner and outer treads of a tire. But yeah, looks kind of weird when you compare the tires on both sides.

So for those of us contemplating the W300's over the Viking Snowtechs, are they worth the $100 difference in price from Tires 23? I'm calling tomorrow to book an appointment and I'm debating which one.

I bought a set from a member on the board ( see here and love them so far. They already saved me on my way home in snow squall's. Huge advantage over RS-A stockers. A bit loud on the highway but I can get over that.
