Default My car is now a total write off!

I havent writen on here in a while, but yesterday on my way from Toronto to sudbury on the 400...I was driving beside a transport, I hit a patch of slush and ice and the car started to swirve and then started to spin and clipped the back end of the transport, its ripped the entire fron end off my car (there not much left of it) and sent me into some serious spinning until I hit the barrier curb with my back end...the air bags didnt deploy and no one was injured (I had two other passengers) but we allhad to be taken to a hospital to be checked out. Needless to say Im a mess, and really upset, and knowing that everyone is ok and lucky to be alive (as we were informed of this multiple times by the officers) all I can think about is my car...The ajuster thinks its going to be a complete write off, but I do have insurance that covers me if this were to happen which is good, but Im sure you guys all understand how important your car is to you, mine was like my baby...and now I have nothing....ugh so stressed...oh and btw I would upload a picture, but I dont know how..hahaha....I dont even know what to do next, Ive called the insurance and talked to them, but the adjustor they gave me is away until friday...I just want my car back!! I have the worst luck ever...2nd accident with a transport in 2 yrs, this is soooo not cool!
Oh and btw the only luck I have is that I wasn't charged or anything, the cop told me it was the road conditions...I dont know if that makes it any better though...

    Winter driving is always hazardous.
Good to hear nobody was hurt.
You can always replace your car with a new one. Your car is still younger than 2yrs from manufacturing date, right? Your insurance will pay you out and you can go and get a new 2008 model. Better yet, maybe even a 2008.5 model.
Gotta watch out for those icy patches on the highway. Especially up to Sudbury! I remember doing a trip like that a few years ago. Same time of the year. Never feared for my life so much! Those logging trucks are all over the place.

Ya Im pretty sure its less then 2 yrs since the manufacturing date....and I know a car is just a material thing, and the insurance will probably replace it, but it dos really really suck

Well it's good that you weren't charged, however you are at-fault insurance-wise. Sorry to say this, but you can expect it to affect your rates come renewal time. Glad to hear you are ok though.

WOW sorry to hear that, glad everyone is ok though...thats the most important thing. Cars can be replaced...people can't!

Its funny you say that, ya a new 3 is great, but I loved my car, and it was like litterally brand new, it didnt even have 5200 kms on it....and yes I know cars are replaceable material things and Im not

Glad you're not charged though, as you pointed out, it would suck to be charged on top of everything else.

As everyone has said though, very glad you're alright, highway accidents can get very serious.

Dancestar I'm glad to see that your physically ok. The psychological scars takes a bit longer to heal. I understand completely about how you feel about your car. Wait for the insurance adjuster to call and point you in the right direction.

The only thing you can do is to sit tight.

Ya the psychological scars are for sure gonna be there for a while, I was already nervous enough around transports from the first accident so this def doesnt make it better...and I havent slept yet, all I can think about is the accident, and I keep replaying it in my head, and of course all the what ifs are starting now....ugh I should make an appointment with a shrink haha

Did the transport actually have anything to do with your loss of control, or was it just in a bad place at the time such that you ended up hitting it?

    Glad to hear you're ok!

Have you got an accident forgiveness endorsement on your insurance policy? If so, it might not affect your rates if this is your first at-fault. Something positive to hope for, I suppose.

It had noting to do with the transport besides the fact that it was beside me, if it wouldnt have been there everything would have been fine cause there were no other cars. The first accident was totally not my fault, the transport rear ended me so that really didnt affect me...this has all just been a crazy 24 hrs....all I can say now looking back on it is everyone just be careful, you never know, always leave your friends andfamily on good terms, never mad because really you never know whats going to happen...

What exit did it happen near? I heard parts of the 400 like between Innisfil and Barrie are notorious for having white out conditions and bad roads. It could have been a lot worse. I rather lose my 3 than lose and body function or life!
I am gonna LOL, bump and +1 to a higher post count!
