Default Trunk size of the Mazda 3 sedan

Do you people think the trunk size of the Mazda 3 sedan is adequate?

I think the size is adequate, and I have a hatch. For some reason, you can fit a set of golf clubs in there, sideways nonetheless, in the trunk of the sedan unlike in the hatch.

Yup, I think it\'s just fine...It is an economy sedan of course...The only thing I think is small is the opening into the trunk, but hey that\'s a minor thing...I did\'t buy a car for the size of trunk or how easy it is to get things into it...

The trunk definitely is bigger than I thought, however you don\'t have much clearance to get large items into it! Sometimes it seems like I have all this space that I can\'t even get at!!

The opening of the trunk is a big downside to the sedan IMO. As stated above, the trunk itself can hold quite a bit of stuff, but to get anything of any great girth in there is a pain. The hatch may be more narrow, but the space is much more usable.

Like Bluntman, I can fit my golf clubs, dragonboat paddle, roller blades in there with ease and there is still more space to put other stuff in, so I think the trunk space is adequate.

The trunk space is adequate for a compact sedan. Not much better than the \'96 civic I had before. I brought the sedan for the style. If I wanted more trunk space I would have gotten the Hatch, the style didn\'t appeal to me. In addition I find the A-pilar hard to see pass for the hatch, hence I went for the sedan.

I knew in advance that I wasn\'t going to be ordering any large furniture, so I went with the sedan. If I had to do major delivery of furniture, I would go with Ikea.

I agree. It would be neat to have a hatch back and be able to carry more stuff, but the styling of the sedan is what caught me. The narrow opening sucks, but I can live with it. I\'m still able to get my bike and tri bag in when I fold down the seats.

I agree with PSIVIC, the only problem I have with the Sedan trusk is the size of the opening.

Trunk is smaller than my last car, Cavalier but because the M3 has the gas struts where the Cavalier didn\'t, it means I could get more in the M3. With the Cavalier the trunk arm would go inside the trunk making that area useless. As for the opening it\'s ok for me, ok for groceries, luggage etc.

Definitely - this is my biggest gripe about it as well. I dunno why they made the rear window slope back so far (I guess for looks), but it really sucks trying to fit objects that you know would fit in the trunk space; but don\'t fit in the opening.
