i went to Crappy Tire today to get some NGK plugs for my 2006 mazda 3 and they don't list anything under NGK for my car, only Bosch and Champion.

Does anyone have the part # for the NGK V-Powers? which would be the copper ones.

    Thanks.

I dont see a reason to change something that doesn't need to be changed! When I get to the proper mileage, they will be replaced!

    My experience is thus:

Mother's '01 Civic came with NGK platinums from the factory. They worked fine for 3.5 years then it got hard to start at temperatures below -20. So as an emergency fix to get us to a funeral I put in a set of plain old Champion Copper+ plugs which worked like a charm for ~18 months. I replaced them with Bosch Platinum+4s and noticed it started up quicker and had better off idle response. I guess the old school Champions were a bit worn after all that time. After 2 years, give or take, I replaced the Bosch plugs with Champion Iridiums last year and noticed the car did not start as easily, idled kind of rough and had noticeably worse off-idle response. Last weekend I went back to NGK G-Power plugs and it runs like new again.

So, pretty much anything but Champion Iridiums as far as I can tell.

I've had good luck with AC plugs in various cars and motorcycles too.

IF I was to buy Iridiums every 4 years, I wouldn't be buying them from Mazda for $100. I'm pretty sure you can get a set of 4 for $50 elsewhere.
ok let me do the math my way to clear things up.
If you buy and spend the amount of $60 which is the square root of the package and from there multiply the CTC store number into that square root you will than need to subtract your birth date from the $60 to arrive at the pie root of 3.23 which is the part number times 4 which then equals the cost subtracted from your bank account. OK got it now...

I really don't think that was Play-Do..... thats just what your dad called it!

K, so in my limited time with my 3, I tried the CT Bosch Platinums for about 6000kms.They worked okay, but had a very slight stumble on idle after a while. Was in the states a couple months ago, bought a set of Autolite Double Platinums, put them in last week. Stumble is gone, runs good.... but for how long? I won't really know, car will be gone saturday...

If I can land another 3 GT in the future, I'll likely just do as Walrus does, or spring for the factory plugs.

Denso Iridiums.. they are awesome.. have them in the Speed..
paid $9.90 US per plug.. ITV20 is the part #, factory plug pretty much. The colder step is the ITV22..
If your interested, let me know, I'll pick some up for you next time I'm in the states, pay for the parts and shipping (exchange and stuff), plus a coffee..
