    Default Ballpark figures?

I'm in the market to purchase a 2010 Mazda 3 GS automatic with the comfort package and I was wondering what others were paying for similar model/options that I'm seeking...out the door prices? This way I'll have a better idea of what to negotiate/look for at my local Mazda dealership.

Thanks...I hope to hear your imput soon.

I got $750 off the MSRP pretty easily. I suspect that I could have done better.

The dealer will usually pad their pockets by insisting that you can't opt out of an extra $399 for etching/nitrogen for tires, locking lugnuts for another $70, etc, etc.

They will also try to up-sell you insurance products you may not want or need, rustproofing, and extended warranties.

Just bought a Mazda 3 GS 5 speed standard transmission two weeks ago. After everything was done and said I paid about $23 000 - $24 000 for it. I got the rust control and paint sealant which set me back about another $1000. The dealer knocked off $450 and automatically puts on locking wheel nuts and charges $55 for it, have to tell them if you don't want them. Another dealer I was getting a quote from was willing to knock of $700. True or not I was told that there is not a whole lot of mark up on the 3's. Something to the tune of $1500 or so. Didn't get anything else on the car, as it sits it is basically a base GS!!

I went in and offered $1500 off the sticker price and then bargained from there. The salesguy I was dealing with told me he could approve anything up to $1000 off sticker price but anything above that needed to be approved by his manager. That kind of told me to push for at least $1000 off and see how much more they could bend beyond that. We met about half way.

This is great info guys...thank you for your prices and experiences. I really appreciate it.

I'm interested to see what kind of Interest rates August brings...if any different from the current July offerings.

I bought my 2010 M3 GS auto for $23,660 out the door but it came with the rustproof and soundguard. Not sure if that was a good deal or not but I like the car and the price was good for me.

Hello, I'm a new user here and hoping to get some assistance on my first mazda purchase. I am doing a little research into a Pre-owned Mazda 3 sport. The details are as follows: 2006 Mazda3 GT Sport, Priced at $16,990(excludig taxes or fees), Milage is at 47,000km, automatic transmission, 2.3L. Power moon-roof. No leather. The car has previously had one owner and was an off lease. I would like to buy this car out the door at no more than $14,000-$14,500. Does this seem reasonable to ask for? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
