Default Road Repairs, Closed Roads and areas of caution

I think we should start a thread that stickied with locations with road repairs, exposed manholes, sink holes, closed roads, etc. Spread the word so that we could possibly avoid those areas or be aware that caution is required.

Repairs are expensive as it is, and if there is a way to help out members from avoiding damage to their vehicle or save time this might want to be a consideration.

Well then you might as well not drive your car anywhere since ALL the roads here are crap (Unless you live in the rich part of town)

I think to make it easier for people to navigate it should go something like this:

general area (ie north Toronto, brampton etc, date noticed (so we can track how long it takes to fix if ever), name and direction of road, lane, type of obstruction ( lane closed, pot hole, construction, etc)

example: Toronto - Sept 18 09- Gardiner W/b to lakeshore W ramp - all lanes - uneven pavement and bumpy expansion joints.

Just an idea you can play around with the format, but lets try to keep it consistent for ease of reading.
there's no such thing as too much zoom zoom

    Good thread!

    I know one ..

Watch out for a big bump on Sheppard going west toward Pharmacy. Right before the intersection on the right lane. Its kinda hard to see so stay on the left till you pass Pharmacy.

    +1

This bump is pretty bad. Everytime I head over for some Hakka food at Lin Garden's, I have to remember this one.

On Mclaughlin past Eglinton towards confederation bridge South, stay on the right side as there is uneven grade of asphalt on the left lane. Saw a lowered honda scrape hard hitting the patch.

    just went down bathurst today...

from centre street to steeles its a disaster north and southbound...
pavement resurfacing so the manholes are sticking up a good 3 to 4 inches

i swear i must have been honked at 30 times for going so slow and avoiding all bumps that would probably tear my car apart lol...

I drive on the 401 East everyday. So the express should be good until Brock Rd, they're almost finish the construction so it's good on the right two lanes. I am not sure of collector's yet, I remember they were doing construction from about Kennedy to Morningside and it's rough.

Avoid Midland North after passing Sheppard, until Huntingwood. Lots of constuction road bumps.

YMCA Blvd and onto Enterprise Blvd, from Kennedy Road (Markham)...MANY raised manhole covers, at least 3" high off the pavement, particularly dangerous at night since it's dark.

I also vote to make this thread a sticky in the general lounge...this thread is going to be an often-viewed thread for many. Good job guys!

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to head up to that area later today. Will have to look at an alternate route.

    Queen/Church, downtown Toronto.

The intersection was closed off for a few weeks in August...the constructions is spreading OUT from this intersection...Church north of Queen is closed to Shuter....Queen east of Church to
    Sherbourne...

    rough pavement, road closures...
