I haven't seen personally. I know there is one on the BC forums. Looks alrite, but I do not think it would be safe for daily driving on Toronto roads IMO. Chances are a rim would get bent or you might pop a tire. Gotta be safe man lol

I'm running 17x7 +40's with 215/45's; they are close to flush (maybe a cm inside the rear fender). I'll likely go 225 for my next tires and roll my rear fenders. Fobio has a really nice wide stance, but I don't know how close to flush he is in the rear fender (search for his pics).
Are you thinking like +38 or more (actually less)?

I posted a few somewhere... I forget where... maybe speed hunters I will look for you.
hmmm, interesting...post some pics!!
I'm thinking of flush and some nice negative camber (hence the car has to be pretty low too) If its done right I'm pretty sure its safe to drive around town for the most part.
Seen some other cars in TO (imprezas, civics, s2ks) done it. Be nice to see some mazda3s rocking it!
There are some sick sick 3's on this thread: clickity click

Nice thread. I'm also really starting to feel the aggressive look as well.
For those worried about GTA roads. I drive a lot downtown Toronto and all you have to do is pay attention to where you're going. The only time I hit potholes is when I'm distracted or I'm not paying attention at all.
Get a nice set of HIDs and HID fogs for maximum visibility at night.
An aggressive set up or 19" rims doesn't automatically mean you'll be stranded on the side of the road. I've seen 16" steelies with a 60 series tire profile bent.
2004 Mazda3 Sport GT|Winning Blue| OG 2.3L @ 545,000 km & counting
Funny how now another trend the Mazda3 community could possibly jump on
But uhhhh folks.....to run these type of setups, you are aware a certain amount of negative camber must be used to actually used to properly run aggressive
Yet from what I remember a majority of you guys HATE NEGATIVE camber and want positive camber
True point RedRaptor that any tire and any series height can bend any rim either steel or OEM
There are some things to remember when going aggressive/hella flush this:
Cost of the rim (no matter how careful you guys are, bend that SOB, and you are out a high 3 figure number for just one rim)
High stress on the wheel bearings, VW/Honda are cheap to replace wheel bearings so they can accomplish without breaking a sweat....Arent Mazda3 wheel bearings hell to purchase and replace...plus are very weak?
High stress on the wheel studs, aggressive negative camber and really bad GTA roads, could possibly snap a wheel stud, easy to replace on a Honda/VW, yet a Mazda3....it can be done but how many times will you be doing this?
Tires is another main factor, killer negative and running highly close to the fenders, could cause a minor rub here and there, plus tire life at such a extreme negative degree again will make tires not last long. In the US they can get away with this cause tire prices can be very dirt cheap. So they can either burn a set and replace cheaply or if one tire pops, then easy to replace.
Remember clearance is an odd one on the Mazda3 from what i find they do not have deep fender wheels like a VW/Honda...
plus there is a McPherson strut in the way, so say good by to your lowering springs, cause to make room...gotta go with a full-coilover.....
There is some light reading....
so who is first in the GTA to do this on a Mazda3? Other then Pearly, its not fair he gotta a honda
^^^ its really tempting to give this a try. I found a nice set of rims, actually going to test fit them. I already have a camber kit and I'm going to roll my fenders already.
but the wheels I found (well nextmod found) is 18x9 +32 offset. 225/40/18 tires. See how it fits first. Just an idea still hope it works out
wow.. 225 tires on x9 rims. big time stretch
I can vouche for this... If I can easily crack an FD Rim at regular camber (Thanks to the potholes of GTA) what more will I do with negative... Plus the Wheel bearings (knock on wood) I currently run is the original ones I have had on my car. So far no problems yet.
If I where anyone who wants to jump on this VDub Idea, They should consider running this for show purposes only.... Running this on everyday streets of GTA will kill your pocket not to mention add more frustration in the long run.
