I think it\'s just a myth blown out of proportion... You\'ll get special deals if you somehow know the owner and are willing to pay cash... Being Chinese has nothing to do with it.

I can see where you\'re coming from since I\'m not asian or what not. Maybe demon\'s post should have been thought out and he should be posting where he has more confidence with the forum users.

Those that have interacted and mingled with demon (I have chilled with him on numberous occasions) know that we poke fun at eachother and have a blast. He\'ll jab at a latin assassin slur and I\'ll hit him back with the fried chicken and orange cola! ... which are stereotypes. It\'s all good fun. I can see where someone who doesn\'t know him could be easily offended by this thread ...

I apologize for any offense taken to my comment. I was speaking from one experience I had buying a laser pointer from a store that my friend previously bought from for 75% less than the price I was being charged.

I see where you are coming from. My friends and I take jabs at each other too...we try to it non racial because as we all know \"all jokes stem from some sort of truth\", whether you like it or not.

Either way...there should still be no tolerance for things like this anywhere. Why African Americans call each other the N-word and then turn around cry out about racial profiling is something I will never understand. I am sure car demon has many asian friends who he could have privately asked for help and not post some public shit like this. Especially on TM3 where there are a lot of asians.

dude, i always feel uncomfortable in pacific mall, it is just the normal feeling that you have when you are surrouned. hell i love asians! trust me!

hell, i work at college and spadina, and my Chinese friend always tells me that he is gonna take me to get a good deal on this or that in chinatown!

i think it depends on the person and whether they take offence, but it is hard to know the difference when someone else from the same culture is saying the opposite thing!

plus it is hard to make a joke online!

watch the movie crash if you want to see some stereotypes.. it\'s an excellent movie.. it\'ll open your eyes a little and make you think twice about the crap you spew out.. while it\'s \'ok\' to poke fun at your own race/ethnicity (not really but more socially acceptable) there should be a zero tolerance policy on racial slurs.. there\'s always going to be that one person that may take offence to what you say..

Hmmm... as I was reading the thread I couldn\'t help but think if I triggered anything with my post....

Either way, my original post was to clarify a myth, and nothing more. Personally, I think that everyone who posts here is sensible when it comes to other people\'s ethnicity. Let\'s not reduce to the arrogance that we see in some other forums (has anyone been to Sirius Backstage lately?).

That being said, I wont take sides on this. I see where both people are comming from. I also know of people who have gone to the Pac Mall and experimented with this myth. A few have found that their asian friends always got better prices. I still get stuff for my computer there because even if I get \"white guy pricing\" its still cheaper.

As for the Asians only lounge, I dont get why that was started, or why it wasnt locked anyways. I havent read it or posted in it, but why don\'t we have a \"European Only\" \"Canadian Only\" \"Afirican Only\" \"Arab Only\" \"Women only\" etc etc etc.... its stupid.
