    Default Shift knob recommendation

    Hi Everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a suggestion on a shift knob? I'm soon looking to install a TWM SS for my 2005 GS and I'm looking to change the knob at the same time.

I'm not quite sure what weight to be looking at, but in terms of styling, I'm looking at the MS carbon fibre knob or something similar (like the Sparco one)

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, any suggestions on a place to buy either online or in the GTA?

    Thanks!

Pretty much any knob from TWM would be a safe bet. They are all extremely high quality.

Personally, I'm using a Razo weighted knob and I love it. I matched it up with a fake CF shift boot.

Knob shape / style is personal preference. You will have a slightly easier time shifting with a weighted knob (over 400g). Like Steve said, check out TWM, also check out Blox, Skunk2, and I'm sure there are others out there. I'm running the TWM A6 knob; I highly recommend these guys (high quality parts, quick shipping, top notch customer service). If you need to feel your knob before you buy it check out Nextmod. Rick@garage16 can also hook you up.

What is it about a weighted shift knob that makes it easier to shift? Like how does the extra weight help?

Is there anyway to add extra weight to my stock shift knob?

The extra weight helps by increasing the momentum of the knob. You might be able to just strap weights to the stock knob, but it will mess up the shape of the knob.
