I have an '05 hatch. Ive have a Vibrant TPV Turbo Muffler installed for about 9 months now. Its just the muffler, with the stock cat. It has the look I want but i need more sound. Thinking about an intake/race pipe/headers. Any suggestions?

add an intake and headers
delete the resonator and bump up the cat-back pipe diameter.
change the suitcase muffler to a magnaflow or HKS
My advice is to take it one step at a time. First off, what is your budget? That will help us determine what advice we give.
Is not here
If you want sound, and one that'll get noticed and get you compliments is a full Vibrant setup such as the one I have. S/S Vibrant Headers/Catback (i.e. entire exhaust system). I also have the Ultra Quiet Resonator and it's still louder than anything else out there - I can't imagine what it'd be like without it. Where are you located - I can give you a live sound-demo! =)

Not louder than one of my custom setups. I was running Vibrant header, custom cbe with muffler delete. It was waaaay too loud; I was embarrassed by it to be honest.
I would do this:
1. CBE
2. Intake
If that's not loud enough decide if you can afford a header, if not then:
3. Straight pipe
If you can afford a header then:
3. Header
Not loud enough:
4. Go catless
Not loud enough:
5. Go mufflerless
Not loud enough:
6. Get a TRZ tranny mount. This won't help the sound outside, but you sure as hell will hear it inside.
Not loud enough:
7. Get an ETD
Not loud enough:
8. Make engine noises with your mouth.
That is all.
Im going to go with number 8. Lol
#9 - record some fly-bys at Pearson Airport and rip it to a CD.....
Get a wife and put her in the car with your new mother-in-law. Problem solved.

if you see a silver/black mazda 3 zooming down hwy 27 and it has an exhaust..its me.
Correct, going catless will more than likely cause you to fail emissions. Keep one cat and you should pass no problem. If you want to run catless the best thing to do is get flanges installed on you exhaust, a straight pipe, and your cat. That way you can swap between the straight pipe and cat.
i say go with intake first. then go for a catback exhaust. then decide from there if you want more noise. its all about preference.
