    Default Engine Motor Mount Question

I searched and posted questions but I couldn't seem to find any answers. I've determined that one of my engine mounts is broken because when my car is in Drive and idle, there's a vibrating/rattling pulse every 2 seconds that's coming from somewhere around the engine. When the car is in Neutral or Park, the vibration disappears.

My problem now is determining which engine mount it is. I called the Mazda Dealerships and it costs $50 just to check which I want to try to avoid if possible. My plan is to buy the mount for $100 and get it installed at Street Performance.

Can anyone give any advice on what I can do to figure out which engine mount it is that's broken? I'm not even 100% sure it is an engine mount problem but the symptoms are certainly the same...

TSB for a busted passenger-side engine mount

you can tell if the passenger mount is busted by feeling the rubber part both top and bottom for a tear. as the rubber ages it breaks and the hydraulic oil leaks out. you can also look for oil stains on the metal directly below the passenger mount.

Thanks so much, I'll check tomorrow morning. Also, is the passenger motor mount easy to locate / access?

I seem to have a vibration when I am in drive (pressing the brakes) or slowly rolling and pressing the brakes. I have never found out what it is. I had my mount changed at one point because it broke. I still had this noise before and after the mount was replaced. I'm just wondering if it is the same noise.

Does the vibration stop if you put the car into Neutral? If so then we probably have the same problem.

I checked my passenger mount and it did not seem torn or broken from above. I tried feeling below the mount as well and couldn't feel any rubber material underneath. There seems to be a little bit of leakage but I'm not 100% positive. I also tried shaking the rubber part of the mount but it's completely stuck and doesn't move. Is it's something INSIDE that's normally damaged?
