What is your M3 sport 2011 color choice?

Hey all,

Getting an M3 2011 sport GS soon and debating which colors to get. So far I'm debating between the Gun Metal Blue and Silver Aluminum Metallic. Obviously, I should get what I like, but just curious to see what color preferences you all have and why.

Also, I know there can be a few pros/cons for colors and if anyone can share some specifics that would be great. Thanks!

Aluminum is probably the lowest maintenance, even when filthy, it still looks clean.

I would have gone with either celestial blue or velocity red had you not narrowed your choices.

Crystal White Pearl

The basic colours are very popular, the crystal white pearl costs an extra $200 btw. Cars in these colours look awesome when clean, but dirt stands out on them more prominently than any other colour. Black also blends in nicer with the smiley face grille. Both colours also blend in well with the other cars on the road, as I tend to see a lot of black, white and silver cars than any other colour.

Velocity Red
Celestial Blue

Attention-grabber colours, could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you want be noticed. Red looks especially nice on the Sport GS, IMO. Celestial Blue isn't my thing. I think these colours hide dirt better than white or black.

Copper Red
Gun Metal Blue

Of these two, the copper red is a classier colour, making the car look more distinguished. Gun metal blue is a bit too drab, IMO.

Aluminum Metallic

This is a nice compromise between black/white and dirt-hiding, a sport GS in aluminum metallic looks nice, especially with tints.

i saw an aluminum metallic the other day.. it looks SO nice. the contour lines on the body create such nice shadows.. ahh.. i have the pearl white.. but i kinda wish i had chosen the metallic now.

Especially now in the winter...the CWP just looks brown...

Is Graphite Mica not a choice for the 2011's? Since you can't get that, I'd say go for the CWP.

Got the graphite mica myself and it'll look great once I stick the tint on it.
I always think I should have gotten the velocity red. Looks even better on the ms3

I know it's an old thread, but, here's my 2cents..

1. Black/White: too easy to get dirty
2. Blue/Red: too obvious, I want low-profile (even for a MZ3.). And, resale value is bad.
3. Graphic/Aluminum Mica: hides dirt/scratch, easy maintenance, high resale, low-profile..
If <30 yrs old, pick the Aluminum, otherwise, Graphic it is.

When i was picking colors, i changed my mind so many times you wouldn't believe it. First it was white, but I ditched it because I saw so many, the extra $200 and it gets dirty easily. I thought about Celestial Blue but figured it was a little to feminine for me. Then a gunmetal hatch cruised by and I completely fell in love... Then I worried about resale value and dirtyness so I turned to Metallic and Graphite back and forth... lastly, went to the dealer bought the car and out of no where decided to get the black last minute lol. Didn't even see it in person... Dunno why, but no regrets yet! Although, a little worried in the summer as I know dark cars can get hot? I hate to believe if its true. Anyway will post some pics later!

Well, here's my ride... Not even a month old yet. Luckily the weather has been clear with no snow the last few days so I was finally able to take pics of it just after a wash at Petro. I chose option 2 the superwash I think and a little disappointed that there's a bit of dirt still laying around. Mostly on rims, license plate, bottom front near smile and under the spoiler at the back. You guys get left over dirt at wash too?

I read around some posts and some recommended the touchless at Shell. I might try that next time. Other than that, it was soo dirty in the last couple of weeks because of the snow... and a trip to blue mountain for some snowboarding =)

35% legal tints on front and 20% all around at the back. I should of chose 20% all the way around because its not even that dark. Got it done at Audio heaven during their special winter promotion. Good timing!
