    UPDATE:
I'm getting 50 MORE kilometers per tank with the Ractive!! This is my 4th full tank and the results are consistant!
Prior to the Ractive I was running the regular Mazda one-use and then upgraded to a K&N drop in box filter and was getting about 419 kilometer on a full tank to when the low fuel warning comes on. Now I'm getting about ~470! I know it's still not fantastic but it's a lot more than I'm use to getting. Makes me wonder if I were to buy a really good SRI if I would get even better fuel economy...

Having CEL is common on installing an aftermarket intake...it really depends on what u get...CEL usually pops out when the MAF sensor cant sense the flow of the intake yet and it may take some time (few drives to recognize it)

When i installed my Simota SRI i had CEL on and off for about a week but then when it started to recognize the air flow regularly...no CEL since then...

Nope, no issue with my 07 Speed 3. I've had my Injen CAI since 10,000 km and now I'm at 87,000 or so, no issues to speak of. But GOD I love the sound it makes with the Turbo

    Hope that helps

Where did you connect the EGR sensor? The breather on the Ractive SRI sits outside the pipe but there is no place to connect the EGR.

Cosmo SRI, simple and easy. haven't had a chance to see if there is an improvement on mileage yet (weathers been to nice riding the scooter everyday)
when i had my Sentra i got an Ebay special, worked great, no issues, better mileage and it sounded mean.

Looks great, sounds great, easy to maintain (dryflow filter), and no CELs.

I can pretty well guarantee you Ron's experience, while fortunate and I'm sure it did in fact happen, was caused by other environmental factors, and was not as a result of the Ractive SRI.

I'm curious though myself, because after installing my K&N, I'm now averaging 7.9L/100km from 9.0L/100km. A few weeks before the intake install, I also did switch from a semi-blend oil to Pennzoil Platinum synthetic oil. Could it have been the combination of the two that I'm getting slightly better mileage? My driving habits haven't changed between those periods. If anything, I've become a little more aggressive.

Some marginal gains are possible, but often tend to be negated by increased aggressive shifting in order to hear the intake growl. Larger variations in fuel economy are more likely due to varying environmental/weather conditions and subtle changes in traffic flow.

You can also reason it out backwards... If decreasing fuel consumption by 11% (assuming Ron consumed 50L each tank) was as easy as slapping on a SRI/CAI which probably costs less than $50 in materials, then why are car companies spending millions to develop new technologies like SKYACTIV in a bid to increase fleet fuel economy, while at the same time keeping the stock air intakes in place?

    >> Because the air intake simply doesn't make that significant of a difference to fuel economy.

A Takeda here as well. Only problem was the rubber coupler that was coated in an oily film. It would slip off every time it was tightened. Some emery cloth and alcohol solved the problem, but i have heard that this piece commonly breaks. So I replaced it with a HPS piece that is reinforced silicone.

No pics with the HPS piece but it looks like this.

Looking to get the Corksport SRI but n00b question first ... If I have a K&N air filter (the drop in one) would it make any sense to put in an SRI? Or would it be either or?

It's either or so you have to decide if you want a SRI or to keep the K&N drop in filter.
