+2
Yesterday was payday + bonus day
Our fiscal year ended Aug 31, so we do annual PA's to see how we are doing individually, and then our raise and bonus depend on that number.
Then the last pay of November we get our bonus, and a our first pay cheque with our new wage + back pay to September 1st.
Lets just say its gonna be a sweeet weekend, and my bank account actually looks really well again!
And my new lady is making me be smart with the money this time. trying to get out of the pay cheque to pay cheque life and get ahead.
Now today is super busy, but its Friday, cake day, and a beautiful morning out!

Tried buying games off Origin. Damn server error!Lot's of people are probably buying off them right now... Will try again later...
wtf i go to futureshop to buy someone thing on their "V.I.P" sale and their sold out at 9:40am...they open at 9:30am..i ask how many they had and they tell me 2...wtf kind of sale is that if they only have 2 instock. I call customer support to see if i can order it online for that price and get told to order it then call back in 40 mins and tell them you want "price protection" and they will give it to me at the sale price..so i call back in 40 mins and they tell me NO i can't not have it at sale price...rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr **** them never going back
Stores like that don't order products that are going on sale in hopes that they will sell it. The flyers you receive are nation-wide so it is luck of the draw whether or not your nearest location will have it in stock. Suppose every location orders 200 of every single product on sale in the flyer, what happens when they don't sell them all? They're left with an abundance of overstocked items that will just sit in the back room and take up valuable space.
And if they were to order you one, the sale would probably be over by the time you got it. A sale is a sale, you miss out, too bad. However, you can always ask them to check if other locations have it in stock and pick it up somewhere else... hell it's future shop there's a location every 2 blocks.
I called kingston future shop sold out...called oshawa sold out.
they say cause belleville is a small town they don't keep much stock....
The problem is they woudln't order me one at the store..last time i went their they had Alpine speakers on sale and i waent their to buy them but they were out of stock so i paid for them and they ordered me the speakers which came a few days later.
Have only 2 is really stupid..i mean even if they had 10 and sold out it wouldn't be as bad but only 2....plus i get home and call customer serivce and i am told to order them on line at regaular price and then call back within 40 mins when the order procces and tell them "price protection"and they will give it to me at sale price....so i order it online and then get told no i can not have it at sale price....rrrrrrrrr
don't matter now anyway i'm done with future shop![]()

Ugh, this is so ****ing stupid. I can't believe we're now doing black friday. This is ****ing pathetic.
Why must we do everything the stupid ****ing US does....
You need to understand the difference between a "sale" item, and a "door crasher" . Sale items are discounted, often times by the manufacturer, with the store reducing it's profit margin slightly to help drive sales. Typically these are current items, and they can source more if required.
A door crasher special, the store and company typically lose money when they sell. They are offering a really low price to get people into the store, in hopes they will also buy other items that are less heavily discounted, so they can ultimately generate profit.
As well with door crasher items, they are usually a spot buy item, so the company has purchased a set number from the supplier for an aggressive price. They then divide these out between A, B, and C stores. Once they are sold out, they are gone for good.

It's not an opportunity to save money when you have to stand inline for two days outside in the ****ing freezing cold and then get inside to find out all the shit is sold out. It's ****ing stupid and pointless.
And why do we have to have it on the same day as america and call it the same thing? Can't we ****ing think for ourselves for once, being original and stop copying everything america does.

We do! In fact I'm pretty sure we have more holidays here than in the states... we are very independent from the US.
The reason Canadian retailers are having these sales is to keep some of the business on our side of the border. A LOT of Canadians cross over to score some deals, even my parents are headed there today! I don't think it's such a bad idea, hey more deals for us and we don't have to travel as far![]()
I suspect because third world deaths are due to low levels of development and/or oppressive governments, while the Black Friday deaths are attributable to hedonistic consumerism.
I personally find the in-store Black Friday activities pretty repulsive, but the online sales are nice if there's something you've had your eye on for a while.
