    I loved mechatronics.
Went to George brown ( different course, tech not an engineer ) but dropped out due to funding ( fackking osap) and economy. ( nothing to finish for, and still nothing. ) probably should have finished my 5 creds.

You still can, don't ever give up. It may not be the way you had hoped it would go, but don't let that stop you.

Yeah I was there for a few months. Big flop in my opinion, worked long days for awful pay.
I made more sitting behind a parts counter than working on my feet all day.

I feel bad for a lot of you recent university grads. Seems some are lucky or know someone and land a great job, or they had exceptional marks or worked their ass off getting their resumes out everywhere.
But I know way too many grads working back at their old summer jobs, or doing general labour in some factory or shop or something. Most of my close friends have come out of university and have ended up in that situation. So they either go back in to get a masters or another degree because they can't find work and are becoming professional students. Or they're working a shit job for shit pay.
It's not a pretty job market for university students these days because everyone seems to have a degree so theres a lot of competition.. but also there just isn't a lot of jobs for grads with no experience because all the guys with tons of experience have been laid off, downsized or whatever and are snatching up jobs that could have been given to a recent grad.
So a lot of people are forced to kick and shove their way in, work for free as an intern and have mom and dad pay their bills (and expensive downtown rent) until they get hired, if they're lucky.
... what is the world coming to. Oh well, I see what my friends have been going through and I'm just glad I got into the skilled trades

Ooohhh.. Never seen that abreviation before. Most people just say cop or police officer.
Unless of course they're stuck on traffic or parking duty, in which case they don't say anything lol!

    That's real cool. Congrats man.

I also started a new career path this December. I'm a Carpenter's apprentice officially now. I love it. I'd been cooped up inside all day at the same chair for too long! Feels real good to be able to point and show people what I do for a living instead of try to explain it to them.
