    Default Compustar Car Alarms

I am in the market for a car alarm and was just wondering what systems you guys have on your cars and the ups/downs of that system (and where you got them installed). I was thinking of picking up this compustar alarm --- 2W900FM-A. Any comments ? price ? Please recommend a store for purchasing and installation.

If you have a muannual transmission and want to get the viper 791XV do not dare get it. I purchased the system and went to lockdown to have it installed and when they attempted t get the starter working they couldnt because the viper is no good for mannual transmissions. They would have had to install seperate door pins etc etc go with compustar

OOO and also just go to lockdown and get the package install and system price because its cheaper then buying the system and then paying to have it installed
I learned that the hard way
1991 Nissan Pathfinder - trade in, 2005 Mazda 3 GX ty grey - Write off, 2010 Mazda 3 GT E sedan CWP- trade in, 2010 Speed 3 w/tech CWP - Up for sale (soon), 2007 Mazda 3 GS silver- motor swapped in to 2009 MS3 CWP that had blown engine, 2002 BMW 330ci silver- new winter ride, 2005 BMW M3- new toy

Did you get the alarm rewired so that your HIDS dont blink on/off when your alarm goes off ? Do you think its a good idea to wire the alarms to the \"high beams\" ?

You could just rewire your hids so that the daytime running lights are controlled by the foglights and the hids are controlled by the foglight switch that way your hids will not flash.

    OR

Lockdown offered me to wire the lights so they would constantly stay on without flashing

I did it the first way

So there is no method of wiring the alarm to the highbeams ? I would hate having my HIDS flash or be turned on for a short period of time.

    My recommendation...........go with the VIPER.......

I\'m on my 5th yes.........5th remote on the Compustar...and what can I say...

I have no F.... Pager system...... I got my installed at Lockdown and Jeff says that they have been having problems with the Compustar remotes. My secondary remote works fine but the main pager unit doesn\'t work at all.

    Go with the Viper system

I mean the actual pager remote.

It does not page me, I can\'t unlock or lock the car with it...it\'s useless.
