Nope! You have to remove the bumper. It's easy to do. Do a little searching as there are how-to's on how to do it.

you dont need to remove the bumper, you will more or less need to drop the splash sheild to connect the lower bracket to the body.

    this.

also it might help to unfasten the bumper rivets with a socket wrench on the drivers wheel well. i did this to install my hydro shield sock over the filter.

You don't "NEED" to remove the bumper, but it makes the job SOOO much easier if you do. Plus, as stated, it's really easy to remove the bumper.

Ok well anyone that feels like taking the hard route won't remove the bumper. It takes no time at all to remove so I would definitely consider it.

From the top of my head

-Undo the 2-3 screws on each side of the wheelwells
    - Undo the 8 hexscrews under the bumper holding the splash shield
    - Undo the 4-8 screws in the engine bay
    - Reach inside the front wheel well (again both sides) and gently pull the bumper from the alignment clip (close to the corner of headlamp)

Bumper should be hanging loose now

In case I missed something, Feel free to chime in

I tried doing it without removing the bumper and it was a pain in my ass. Taking off the bumper is easy i would recommend anyone to take it off

Sounds pretty easy, I've been meaning to install my CAI for a while now, just too lazy to remove the bumper lol

i just put mine on the hoist much easier to remove the splash sheild and install that way. just needed to fab a bracket to secure the AEM cold air to the body.

    Of course you do!

Yeah a hoist would be ideal for an install like that.

you do know that injen cai is a 2 piece intake? you can convert it to sri (for winter and back to cai for summer).

    best of both worlds

Make sure you include a hunk of rubber in the bracket to absorb vibration.. Otherwise metal attachment on the CAI will fail, usually by pulling out a piece of the AEM tubing.

thats actually what happened on my last car. and i used the supplied bushings and bolts that AEM provided. and then went through 2 other no name cold airs, just cut that pipe at the bracket and drove it that way then, but that being said the bracket is solid with the frame. and the end that mounts with the intake has a longer space similar to the intakes, and i have the bracket connected to the intake with the supplied AEM bushing bolt. we shall see what happens. hopefully this will hold up with out any failure.
