looks sick man!! I've been trying to scope you out in KW but haven't really seen anyone lol

Haha, I wanted to get out to give you guys a hand and hang out, but my girlfriend cut her thumb pretty bad and I had to go take care of her/clean up mass amounts of blood. I got out to Ryan's around 3:30 I think? We ended up just shaking a bunch of rust out from behind the brake disc and doing a service on the front. Squeals are gone, although I've got some insane gouging on my rotors and pads.

Today was a good day.
Wheels look like they'll be ready to put back together in about a week's time.
I had originally planned on using standard BBS RS bolts on the wheels. RS bolts are M7x32mm, whereas the huck bolts that were used on my wheels are M8. Most people (there are probably only a handful) of people who split these wheels just use RS bolts... but I decided to buy some stainless steel hex socket M8 bolts. I know I might hear some groans for not going with real RS bolts, but there are a few reasons I went this direction.
a) They are stainless steel and not chrome. They will not rust
b) They are the "proper" size for my holes
c) They are longer to accommodate my spacer idea in the future if I decide to follow through with that (for those of you following this thread)
d) They are approximately half the price of the cheapest RS bolts, before shipping taxes and duty, and I have the tools required for them already as well
As you can see, they polished up fairly nicely as well. Top bolt is raw, spent a few minutes polishing the bottom one
Also, my boss decided to be a pal and sent my hex caps off for polishing. They came back today and I'm STOKED on how well they came out
I will be taking the faces in for powder coating tomorrow to a place here in Waterloo. The price is great, and it's about a block away from where I work. Still haven't decided what colour they're going to be... but I was told that they will be ready for a Thursday... so come out to the Bubba-Q to see!!

Welp, it appears that my brilliant money-saving idea won't work after all.
I was lead to believe (on purpose or not) that these were as strong as 10.9 mild steel. Turns out they're roughly half that strong, and probably unsafe to run. The search continues, haha

Debating whether or not I should post my wheels here or wait till they're bolted up and mounted

who did you get to power coat your factories? or did you do it yourself? I also gotta get me a front lip like that.. very nice 3!!

That's so sweet. ETA on the bolts?

Nice! Spacers?

I don't think so this season. It would just mean another two or three weeks waiting to put my wheels on and I just want to slap em on.

Nice. They look great.

Lol thanks man.
Thanks!
The bbs are professionally powdercoated by a place here in Waterloo. They are 17x8 front and 17x9 rear, ET +45. I want to space the fronts out 5mm and the rears 10mm though.
And I'm lowered on KW V2 coilovers.
Thanks for the complimens![]()
