"It is amazing how many drivers, even at the Formula One Level, think that the brakes are for slowing the car down." -- Mario Andretti
But then you still need a switch. Reusing existing circuits is much cleaner. As long as you don't increase the actual fuse amperage, you're still safe. IE: IF you have a 30 amp circuit, and you add an 'add-a-circuit', re-use the 30amp for your main fuse and add a secondary which is less. That way, you aren't exceeding the circuit's total rated capacity. If you blow the 30 amp fuse, then find another one that might not be as loaded. IE: Cigarette lighter circuit
Ring terminal is connected to the battery. Ignition source is done post fuse at the cigarette lighter. No switch needed.
You can also add another relay for simple logic control if needed.
Want to work on your car but not sure how, send me a PM. Learn the way of Nator.
Definitely not simpler
I ran my meth pump off the eng bar 2 (or whatever it was called in the engine bay) and my stereo directly off the battery w/ 100 amp fuse. Never ran into issues. Other misc stuff I'd piggy back off existing circuits in the PJB, but I'd never increase the main fuse. Much cleaner...less cables. Your way is great, but I'd consider it over kill short of something that really needs it (Maybe meth pump would warrant it).
Then again, I bet you're no stranger to running cables![]()
Nowhere to ask this so I ask here
Why is darkice selling his accessport?
Wrote off his speed? Selling his speed?
Hi everyone just wanted to say hi because as of today I just picked up my 2012 cwp ms3. Some of you guys might remember me (filipino guy with ponytail) as I was there at Paul's place during one of your install days a few weeks ago; I came in a skyblue 3 gx hatch late in the afternoon. Anyways I'm always up to listening and learning new things with the speeds but won't be doing any mods for the first year or two as all my money is paying for the two new 3's, the wife is now driving the gx.
Cheers and looking forward to chat,
Carmelo
That makes 4 Mazda6 owners to jump to the Gen2 Speed3. The party is getting started again.
Shitty
So is it for sale or going in for warranty work? Or both

So, looks like this weather is gonna hunt us all weekend! I'm gonna have to find a place where there's adequate shade to do my $#!&. Plan is, I was gonna use the whole Saturday to install/wire the gauges, place the vent pod as well and fix that screw hole that I messed up the last time.
If only this damn weather will cooperate!

I know man! I was planning eveything for this weekend, reading up on stuff, printing out lots of pictures and whatnot. If anything, I think I'll just set up an umbrella beside my car. Because I'm gonna be taking apart the dash and water seeping in is just something that I wouldn't want to happen.
We'll see...
riz...working on the car and liking it is one thing...doing it out in inclimate weather for the sake of, getting yourself, your equipment and your car soaked... is far from delivering quality workmanship to the job, as well as not very enjoyable in the sense that doing hobby work should be.
No yeah, I totally agree.. If it keeps raining like this this weekend (which it appears to be), most likely, I'll postpone it and show Jimmy the surprise.I wouldn't want anything electrical to get soaked. Plus water inside the vacuum tube is not something I would risk either.
Schupid weather, just wasted all that planning and crap.
some people should just stick to public transit lol
