I got that carbon fiber one too (only took 2 weeks, even though they said a month). A would highly recommend the ZAGG Invisible Screen Protector. My brother uses it on his 3G for a few years and it has lifetime warranty. Easy to put on, even for an idiot like me lol. It was $20 as well, but worth it.

I carry my phone around in my pocket and occasionally accidentally put my keys in the same pocket, that is scratch resistant. Some apps don't really "multitask" but more go into a standby state where it remembers the last state it was in. Some, if you give it access (like clocks/alarms/etc) hook into the push/alert realm where it does minimal in the background. The "bar" you are clearing are only the last 4 used programs. Just because they are in there doesn't mean they are currently running. Some might be depending on the application but others might not.

ohh gotcha. cuz my uncle's phone died after like 16 hours and mine after about 40, we use it about the same but he didn't clear all those background apps and I did, so I assumed that's what ate his battery life.

All depends on the apps really and what you allow the apps to do. An example would be Meebo. If I ran that, it would obviously leave some stuff in the background. However something like a basic game wouldn't as there's nothing for it to do in which case, at best, it goes into a saved state until you open it again. Also, some programs use more batteries than others in the first place which would help drain it faster.

Got the 16gb for $159 with a new contract. I wasnt eligible for ANY HUP and they gave me early ugrade. I was eligible for HUP in June of next year.

Which BlackBerry are you coming from? As for getting used to it, the keyboard might be your biggest "getting used" to thing...everything else is so simple and common sense on the iPhone that you just figure it out with out fiddling around.

my understanding is that if you are on a corporate plan there is not much, if anything they can do (even customer relations).

but in reference to your comment about not knowing if it was customer care or customer relations.. it's a big diff cause the former is useless and the latter is not. haha..

Liking it quite a bit so far. Interface is obviously quite a bit different (going from trackball and full qwerty keyboard to a touchscreen) but being able to touch your app directly as opposed to scrolling to it is definitely a huge boon. I can see how intuitive it is already. Games/media/browsing are definitely better catered for the iPhone.

Coming from a Blackberry 9000 (Bold). Getting used to the touch keyboard, even in portrait mode. Had some good practise transferring over all my notes from the BB to the iPhone.

My 3G home button is all worn out. Especially with the multitask, it wears out the home button pretty fast. I've got Activator setup so that I don't have to press the home button. I have double tap the clock open multitasker and slide down to close apps.

the only thing i dont like is the tiny scratches on the camera lense(rear). when taking pics out side the bright lite makes the corner of the phot fuzzy. can i get this replaced or something?

I tested a few regular point and shoot cameras and I did find that they all have some colour variation whether it is yellowish, redish or bluish.

Actually, trying point your camera at a white object (a wall) you'll notice a green'ish blemish in the middle of the photo.

both me and my roomate use the iphone as an alarm and he woke me up this morning at 7 (alarm usually goes off at 6 15 and 6 30) and told me all this. i thought that maybe i turned them off and was so sleepy that i didnt remember but nope. on the way to work they bot went off at 7 15 and 7 30.

It doesn't even come close to my old clunker Sony Ericsson k850i 5mp cellphone camera. But I guess I'm expecting too much seeing as the k850i is off of Sony's Cybershot line of cameras.

It's too bad I can't switch sim cards between these two phones for when I really need a good camera. Damn microsim.

In iTunes, when you click on your iPhone at the left. Under the Ringtones tab, make sure "sync ringtones" is selected.

This should solve your issue here.

Go to an Apple store early in the morning before they open, you are guaranteed one.

I waited in line among 500 people at Square One on the launch date, I was 20th in line. It was well worth it, considering people still have to wait to get one almost 4 months later.

Actually no.. I was in the mall at 8 am to get my lottery tickets and when I walked by the Rogers kiosk their was a few people waiting for the phone so since their was only a few I put my name on the list and waited till they opened to get the phone lol... 3 hours later I had it lol

At this time of the year with Christmas is approaching, Rogers would rather ship all their units to retail stores in order to cash in on all the gifting of iPhones. Its gonna be hard to have one shipped.
