Recently purchased an '06 Mazda 3 GT, Auto, 65K
incident #1
-Engine light comes on, followed by harsh sputtering. I check Gas cap, click three times, double check. Drive it awhile longer only to be followed by the symptoms. I Tow it do Mazda, they run a diagnostic with the following codes appearing:
U101 - Lost communication with TCM
U100 - Missing message from PCM
C1235 - R/R wheel speed sensor Input Signal missing
C1236 - L/R wheel speed sensor input signal missing
B2212 - Panel dim switch out of range
They find that the locking mechanism for the emission harness is missing. Also suggest that the transmission module could be failing. They recommend to monitor the connection. In the meantime, I go ahead and do a transmission flush.
incident #2
After picking up the vehicle, everything checks out. No sputtering, no engine light. I drive it roughly 10 km home. Hours later I get into my car and discover it doesn't start. All lights come on like they normally do but no crank. I try it a few more times, and it starts. I did nothing differently. I drive the vehicle. Stop the car, turn it off/on. I drive another 1/2 mile, repeat only to discover that it won't start again. I can hear a faint electronic buzz from the engine that lasts for about 20 seconds after I pull out the key. The hood would have to be propped up and your near crank case in order to hear it.
Tow it to dealer. Replace the harness. Pick it up the car and start it. Noisy electronic buzz and the car revs high. Turn it off and on a few times and it sounds normal. Drive off and I feel a slight sputter but the engine light doesn't go on. I drive it for another 15 km or so at various speeds, using the tiptronic on occassion and drive it home.
incident #3
Next morning, take the car out only to be horrified by the engine light coming on followed by sputtering.
Tow it back to the dealer while I wait for another diagnostic and the likelyhood of trasmission module being replaced.
-----------------------------:sad
All this is hard pill to swallow considiering I've had the car for less than a week and I'm dumping $1000 into repairs with the likelyhood of another grand coming, not to mention having had the car towed three times.
I'm at my wits end and I'm asking for help, any expert analysis, opinions or whatever.
Thanks,
