Something like this? I guess for connecting directly to the battery correct?

holy shit dude...that's the waterproof (when not in use or when in use with waterproof sheath) usb plug I plan to use on my scooter. Why you would have found that one is beyond me!
Just get some ring terminals and an inline fuse holder and do it right. Not to mention its cheaper.
But then you still need a switch. Reusing existing circuits is much cleaner. As long as you don't increase the actual fuse amperage, you're still safe. IE: IF you have a 30 amp circuit, and you add an 'add-a-circuit', re-use the 30amp for your main fuse and add a secondary which is less. That way, you aren't exceeding the circuit's total rated capacity. If you blow the 30 amp fuse, then find another one that might not be as loaded. IE: Cigarette lighter circuit

Ahaha, I was looking through pictures of what Paul mentioned because I can't imagine how a ring terminal would be connected to the fuse box somehow (clearly I'm not an electrical guy). :chuckle
But yeah, I was merely referring to the ring terminal and the inline fuse. :chuckle

Ring terminal is connected to the battery. Ignition source is done post fuse at the cigarette lighter. No switch needed.
You can also add another relay for simple logic control if needed.
Definitely not simpler :)
I ran my meth pump off the eng bar 2 (or whatever it was called in the engine bay) and my stereo directly off the battery w/ 100 amp fuse. Never ran into issues. Other misc stuff I'd piggy back off existing circuits in the PJB, but I'd never increase the main fuse. Much cleaner...less cables. Your way is great, but I'd consider it over kill short of something that really needs it (Maybe meth pump would warrant it).
Then again, I bet you're no stranger to running cables :)

Hi everyone just wanted to say hi because as of today I just picked up my 2012 cwp ms3. Some of you guys might remember me (filipino guy with ponytail) as I was there at Paul's place during one of your install days a few weeks ago; I came in a skyblue 3 gx hatch late in the afternoon. Anyways I'm always up to listening and learning new things with the speeds but won't be doing any mods for the first year or two as all my money is paying for the two new 3's, the wife is now driving the gx.
Cheers and looking forward to chat,
Carmelo

Carmelo - Good to see you make the jump. Nothing wrong with trying to wait to mod. Gives you lots of time to read and listen. That said.. resistance is futile..

So, looks like this weather is gonna hunt us all weekend! I'm gonna have to find a place where there's adequate shade to do my $#!&. Plan is, I was gonna use the whole Saturday to install/wire the gauges, place the vent pod as well and fix that screw hole that I messed up the last time.
If only this damn weather will cooperate!

riz...working on the car and liking it is one thing...doing it out in inclimate weather for the sake of, getting yourself, your equipment and your car soaked... is far from delivering quality workmanship to the job, as well as not very enjoyable in the sense that doing hobby work should be.

So since I got my HPFP installed.. I heard new sounds coming from inside the engine when I'm driving. Like the turbo spooling quicker? or the fuel pump? I'm not sure.. sounds very cool. Never heard this sound before. I know I have new sounds from the transmission after installing the TMM, but this is a high pitch sound.
Maybe it's just me and I'm hearing things. Just thought I'd see if any of you know what I'm talking about.

So the talk on MSF is that it affects mainly 2010 MS3, but with all other speeds reporting something similar. It needs to be said, as loki have alluded to, that none of it may be related. I'll keep an eye out and see what's up. In the meantime, David@Cobb is on the issue so keep checking the thread on MSF for updates. I have a couple of theories tho....

The MAF housing of the CP-e is 3.25". the inlet itself states it's a 3" cross-section throughout as it's more like a chamber than a 3" pipe. here's a link:

Ideally, you want to keep the intake tract - up to the turbo - as large as possible (in our case 4") so that the turbo doesn't have to inherently run a higher pressure ratio to give you your desired boost.
For example,
You want 20 PSI manifold pressure (boost). Assuming you have a restrictive inlet/intake, the turbo will have to work harder on the inlet side (maybe 22PSI worth or something).
I'm holding the pressure drop on the post turbo side constant at whatever it is given your intercooler setup.

longer pieces are a great idea
mine were almost dropping out the first time I checked them. I'll check them again to make sure they're still in there good.
When you check the clamping collars, also check the bracket bolts and the end link nuts. The end links on my sway bar were so loose you could twist them with your fingers. Had the car up on a hoist and (using the allen key to hold the nut in place) tightened the fvck out of them - way better to torque them tight on a hoist than to lie on your back under the car trying to tighten them that way.

I checked all those already. they were still torqued the way we set them
50 lbs of torque is 50 lbs whether the car is up on a hoist, you're on the ground, you get a skank to do it, once the torque wrench clicks at the torque setting, you're good to go.
but it would be a hell of alot easier on a hoist....

I got it at 50lbs torque last time or whatever the JBR instructions recommended, using a torque wrench. Clicked off and everything. Still came loose... might be a result of the clamping collars coming loose and allowing the bushings to move back and forth.

If you're gonna do it on your own, you might want to replace the clear straw with something better. One of those black vacuum lines instead... Jimmy didn't use that thing because he says that it didn't seem to have good quality. Also, he used a fair bit of extra wires because the package didn't have enough..

315's are perfect for this car. I'd run 17x12's. The only issue is you cannot run the fender liners at all.
I tired it out with 2" spacers already . . . . Good news is that it doesn't rub the inside of the car. :)
EDIT: to be perfectly honest, I'd keep the 255's in the rear and flare the front only with 315's.
Then we can do weekly axle swaps. Good thing with the LSD you can still drive around if you snap one.
Hahah... Paul, I DARE you to do it. I think that would be bad ass. Traction issues? What's that?
CelestSpeed3
06-09-2012, 12:15 AM
I will do it, That's why I test fitted it already. I just couldn't find fender flares that fit. The other issue is that 17x12's are hella expensive. So realistically I would settle for 295's on a 17x10. I would lose some turn in feel but with enough camber the car won't care.

Those cheapass retaining clips from Mazda are two piece and spot welded together. When they rust, the two pieces break free but spin around on themselves so that you can't use a socket wrench to remove the bolt. There are updated one piece clips that Mazda sells, but they're hella expensive for what they are (like $2 a clip or some shit).

Sorry to hear Alex... unfortunately, according to the fault determination rules, you will be deemed at fault in this case. The reason(s) why you would want to go through insurance are:
a) you can't afford to pay for the dmgs
b) you worry that she will "chinese neck pain special" you in the future

i would wait till the summer has passed before getting a blackvue. as it gets consistently warmer, it will be interesting to see how many fail due to overheating (a problem with blackvues). in the mean time it is probably a good idea a cheap ~$50 camera, as it could save you $1500 in the long run.
and if alex did have the camera, i think he might of had a case for unsafe lane change or something along those lines, but without a camera, he is 100% at-fault for rear ending the car...sucks.

Did you take pictures though of the deemed no visible damage? I guess if you have the proof and stuff, you can probably get away without paying for the repaint. Would have been good if there's a supporting police report.. In the end it will come down to how you can support your claims.

As true TF fans (which I'm assuming you two are) what do you think of the Michael Bay movies? Honest question.

Not too bad... it's hard to cram all that story into a 2 hr film.

I agree with Adam, 1st was OK, rest were too much. And Bumblebee is not a whiny little bitch.
Speaking of TF... they're updating the old Soundwave toy and it looks AMAZING!!!

That's what I thought......between all the humping robots, swinging scrotums, hash browns, Scott Witwicki always yelling and screaming "OPTIMUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS RAAAR RARARARRRRAA", Bumblebee missing his speech processors so that he seems more like a dog than a technologically advanced robotic lifeform, Optimus with a mouth, insect-like Decepticons, TFs with wheels for feet, Baysplosions and far too much product placement - there is something of value in there. Somewhere.
Then I watch the original TF movie and I'm reminded of how much more awesome it will always be...

I know there was battery talk before, but what was the answer for a decent replacement?
The car would struggle a little to start if it sat for a few days and after getting back from a trip last night (sat for 11 days), I had to jump it with the wife's car.

Can't go wrong with an Optima. Definitely not the cheapest but one of the best.
I've noticed a lot more people requesting Optima batteries this summer.

They were as good as you were going to get with Bay shooting the action. As far as combat scenes and camera angles, he's a genius, but for plot, patriotism and preservation of concept. I'd like to kick him in his Devastator wrecking b***s!!
I agree with Adam, 1st was OK, rest were too much. And Bumblebee is not a whiny little bitch.
Agreed on Bumblebee, but he was more adept than in the G1 cartoon.
Speaking of TF... they're updating the old Soundwave toy and it looks AMAZING!!!
Yes "Masterpiece" Soundwave will be joining the rest of my collection, the adult TF's have far more detail and articulation than any other line to come out since the originals and their solid as sh*t!!

+1,000,000 to this. Some of the best value came from Julie White b.k.a Mrs Witwicky, she was awesome in all of them, stole every scene she was in. MILFey too!!:chuckle.
Sorry Ami, but I couldn't have all those comments thrown in about TF without responding. As far as Mazda TF's was thrilled when Jazz became one, he is the lynch pin of both my Masterpiece/Alternators collection and my complete G1 one as well:D

May fall in either restricted or more likely, prohibited. I haven't looked into prohibited at all, so I don't know many details on that
