So I got my 2011 Mazda3 at the end of June, so it is now 7 weeks since I took delivery of it. Two weeks ago I was listening to a CD while driving and at the two minute mark on every song it started stalling and/or skipping on the songs. First I thought maybe there was something wrong with the CD so I put it into my stereo at home and it worked fine there. So then I tried another CD in the car which I knew worked fine and the exact same thing happen. Then I went away last week and so the car was not driven for five days. I returned and now tracks from 1-10 work fine for the whole song and anything higher than 11 skips from about 10-20 seconds in. I am SO disgusted that on a brand new vehicle that this is happening. Has anyone else come across the same thing? I am concerned about how it will be fixed as I do not want them to have to take out the dash to have to repair it.

the radio/cd player comes out very easily, no need to remove whole dash.

You seem to be complaining a lot though you have yet to be back to the dealership to have them look at the problem(s).

Everything is under warranty, that's why you bought a new car right? Take it back and explain the issue. Don't leave until it's fixed. If something isn't working, make sure you have it looked at BEFORE 20k or 12mths pass.

+1 on taking the cd player out. It's very simple.

Thanks, :rolleyes but I HAVE been back to the dealership and did not get anywhere but thanks so much for the input :headbang

Thanks to first poster as I did not know that the CD player was a simple removal fix. I had some wondering as to whether it had anything to do with my change in steering wheel as that gets connected to the radio/CD player.

Well you never mentioned that they looked at it and told you they weren't going to fix it. That's all.

Is it a burned CD or a retail (new without any scratches). It could be the media and not the player.

Take it to another dealership. Brand new car and they won't do anything about it? You said you tried a couple of CD's so I'm going to assume it is the player. My Bluetooth module kicked on me about 6 months into having my 2010 GS. When I went into the dealership (Probart Mazda in London) they thought it was my phone (Blackberry) until I connected with 3 other Blackberry's that others were carrying that were at the dealership. All good. They ordered in a module and replaced it! It should be a no issue with replacement providing you can show them what it is doing.
