Alright guys, I'm postponing the draft for the free league to Thursday at 6:30PM. Due to the fact that we've got some people that have decided not to participate in the league anymore. I'd rather wait till we have at least 8 teams, even if that means we draft after the NBA season starts. So once again, if you have any friends that may be interested, or if you're in the paid league and would like to join in, add it up to the list! Let's get this to at least 8-10 teams and we can schedule a draft accordingly.

If there isn't enough interest, I guess we could just drop the league altogether. Which would suck, but oh well, what can you do.

For some reason it won't allow people to join anymore. I noticed this last night when my second friend wanted to join in but couldn't because you had apparently joined in. I thought you weren't even gonna be part of this league. Anyway, that's fine, I think it's not letting more people join since the draft is so soon. That's the only reason I can think of, though its never happened before. I'd have to postpone the draft for your two other people to join, and I kinda wanna do the draft asap.

Aghhh can't wait till Rubio is back. I know he's one of the main reasons I'm not doing so well right now lol hoping to regain some wins once he returns. I've held onto him too long to give up now.


Current observations:

Paid league: I see three sort of "divisions" forming here. We've got the top 4 all close together, 5 through 8 in a group of their own, and then ranks 9 through 12 all relatively close to each other too. I need Ami to take out WeTheNorth this week so I can creep up one rank in the standings, as long as I take care of business with my matchup

10 players. 8 teams make playoffs. One inactive throughout the season. One (call him Player 1) out of the playoff race but still plays. Trades were:
Player 1 gives away Wiggins for Afflalo to player 2

I would suggest if we keep it a 10 team league to make the team roster deeper, hence increase the roster spots per team.One of the issues for me last season was because our roster was relatively short i had to cut relatively good players cuz they were injured for a month or more. Also, i believe it shows more of your skills when your team is deeper since you often have to dig deep into waivers to improve and optimize your team. Categories and format were fine, I don't remember if we had an Offensive Rebounds cat but i would add it if possible.Categories i would like to suggest are FGM,FG%,FTM,FT%,PTS,AST,3PTM,REBOUNDS,OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS, STL,BLK,TO

Sorry guys, I know I promised a detailed message a few days ago, but it's been a hectic few days for me. Just getting around to this now.

So here's what I'm thinking in terms of players. From those that have responded, seems like 12 is preferred. And since we have two members with multiple friends that are interested, to be fair, let's just have each of you sign up whoever first come first serve. Sound good? New features of 2015 fantasy basketball: Two new features I want you guys to be aware of:
1. You can now have draft pick trades. This should make our draft a little more exciting/interactive.
2. Rosters now have two spots for IL (Injured List). So if a player is injured, you can have them on your roster but not in your lineup. If you guys don't want these two extra spots, I can look into removing them. But to me, should provide for a more challenging league, digging deeper into the rosters (specially if we only end up with a 10-man league).


As and how people send their payments and PM's in, I will generate a list of forum name and fantasy team name, just as past years, so we will all know who is who.

If everyone is on the same playing field with IR, then everyone benefits. Means fewer quality players on the wire, still difficult decisions to be made.

I definitely agree with you on this point. But as Ami mentioned below, the other aspect to consider for this, as I explained in my post, is that it makes the free agent pool a bit more shallow. Meaning that it'll be trickier to pick guys up, and not have undrafted "stars" just waiting in the free agent pool for if and when you drop a player. So in that sense it kind of evens out the "making tough decisions" aspect of it, no? I've never played with it before, so I can't speak from expert, but I think it'd be cool to try if people were down.

Anyone else with feedback on this?

Well, if you guys wanna go that route, then I think it'd be just getting rid of total rebounds, and adding both offensive and defensive.

when you edit your lineup, put Kyrie in an IR spot, then click save.
Yahoo will then show you have one free roster spot, and you can put in a waiver claim without dropping anyone.

check the Yahoo help. Once you are logged into the league, go to the top right corner and look for help. Then search injured.

You have to first add the player to your roster, then place them on it, that opens a position on your roster.
You can not go direct from free agent to IR. The idea is if a player on your roster is injured you can get a temporary replace that player.

Well, despite some desperation moves towards the end, doesn't seem like I'll come back from the ass-kicking I'm currently getting lol. Well, at least I scraped myself into the playoffs :P

Once again an unlucky year for me. Right when playoffs hit, I had like three guys get injured. not to mention the annoyance of the weeks leading up to the playoffs where guys like Duncan were being rested, and so weren't doing anything for my fantasy team.

woahh.. Am I tripping out? I checked my matchup after all the games were done around 11:30pm when I got home and it said I won the matchup 6-5. I then tried to make changes to edit my lineup just now and add/drop players for next weeks lineups, and it said I lost 5-6?

EDIT: nvm. It went back to normal. I guess they were just updating and had a glitch. Hell of a matchup though.. So close in so many categories
