Actually I could hit up some boost tubes too. I'm pretty sure if we do a GB I could come up with a list ;-)

Fobio organizes a group buy every month or 2 from JBR

Good to know there's no rush then. Still if @pwdunmore is going to throw an order together, I'm all about instant gratification!

Sooo...give me the low down on EBCS. Thinking of picking up the grimmspeed one. I'm hoping it'll give me better control over my wastegate and hopefully lower the duty cycle a bit. With the K04 though is it really going to do anything?

You can do it now but it requires tuning to use properly, it will give you better boost control/response but for the K04. The EBC that comes with it is fine for the stock turbo. If you plan on upgrading down the road, sure why not get it, but it is a little bit of work to tune again. If you like tinkering go ahead but if not just leave it as.

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
FYI, latest accesstuner software makes it so you can't flash maps...bug in the software.
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
The new access port manager? or new ATR?
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
AccessTuner = ATR
Good to know... that kinda sucks.
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
From what I've read on MSF, it's attaching the wrong serial number to every map so it won't match up when you go to flash.

The tuning part doesn't bother me, I've been self tuning for a while now and know that in 3 port to cut things in half in the WGDC and go from there. I'm not sure if I'll upgrade turbo's down the road (might be way down the road when I have a second vehicle)...but seems like for the $100-150 bucks, why not?

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Looks like the solution to the flashing problem is to re-request ATR from COBB's website. I've done it already, so I'll give it a try tonight.

When you open ATR, in the top application title bar you should see your serial number in the brackets (<serial number here>). For the new version of ATR they list if it's a V2 or V3 access port, so it shows as "(V2: <serial #>)" within the title bar if everything is working correctly.

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Today was sitting in a parking spot idling the car for several minutes, then began driving towards a close-by highway on-ramp. Upon hitting about 3k rmp in 2nd gear large amounts of black smoke came out of the exhaust, tied with how much I pressed the gas. I got it up to 120 anyway by keeping under 3k rpm, and it didn't happen the rest of the drive home. Was this likely caused by the computer adjusting to running rich while idling, and then the sudden change from idling for over 5 minutes, to accelerating abruptly, causing unburnt fuel to dump out? I was scared my turbo had blown for a second!

You need someone to install the two bolts and two little clamps for you?
You can get orings anywhere, go to the parts store (napa, parts source, canadian tire, princess auto).
