buy the step colder plugs so you dont have to do them in the near future anyways, get it over with now

It doesn't work that way. One step colder plugs is if the vehicle needs it and the tune is set up for it. Don't install one step colder plugs until you know you need them. There is no piont in wasting money. The NGK's have proven to be a little better then the Denso's, but we are splitting hairs. Plugs should be replaced at least once a year with this engine so please keep that in mind for your maintenance budgets for the year. If you are in doubt of what would work best stock is always the sure bet.

I do not imagine I will blow it up. The only mods I am looking to do outside of cosmetic is the exhaust. I will likely purchase something brand new with 300+hp within the next 2-3 years.

Gotcha! I can definitely see how that happens. I want to keep my pretty simple for now. Just some basic cosmetic and engine mods. If I can afford to keep this car when I purchase our next vehicle, I will definitely get more involved. This car needs to remain a reliable commuter, at least for now.

you can make 300+ hp with a speed 3 for far less than the price of buying a new car...
