I wouldn't call it ghetto, personally I find it more practical. It doesn't have a million buttons and there's no fancy things to toy around with. It has what's 'necessary' and that's it. If anything that was sort of a bonus when I bought mine but hey we all have our preferences.
Also to your DD comment its an amazing car to DD through summer and winter (actually saw a few guys on FT86Club mention they prefer driving it in winter). But your right it doesn't have a lot of power but that's really not what the car was built for, It's a drivers car and not a look how fast I can go.
And to answer the window freezing, It does happen occasionally but its just a quick reset (holding down on the window key to reset it and have it work perfectly.

And for all those power hungry tuners, how about this 450hp BRZ by Crawford Performance?

Thanks for the good response.
In defense of my 'ghetto' comment, its not just about the controls. I mean the whole dash looks ridiculously cheap... like it looks like they used the cheap carbon fiber wrap (non 3d) that you can buy on ebay for a few cents on a piece of plastic. Obvious cost cutting. The BRZ is a bit better, but still nowhere near mazda, hyundai, etc.

Spotted the guy from here with the "FT86" plate on the FR-S. I don't know if you noticed me; I was going down the 404 this evening right before sunset in the bright orange 2014 Civic Si Coupe. Your car looked awesome...

Subaru BRZ S announced for Australia. Looks like it will have STi rims, skirt, front & rear lip, spoiler and possibly upgrades to the suspension, exhaust and intake.

Can't say I like any of it other then the exhaust/rear diffuser

As one of the first owners of the Fr-S on this forum since last year July. I wanted to say the cars interior for what the car cost is pretty acceptable IMO. For you to say the BR-Z looks better, yes it does, thats because Subaru is smart enough to bring spec for spec the same gear japan has to Canada. Scion which are morons wanted it to be "affordable" so they did not bring spec for spec what Japan FR-S Aka 86 to Canada. In japan 86 and Br-z have the exact same interiors. minus the small stuff to differentiate them. Just to clarify some things there lol.
As a Daily driver car, the car does well getting you to point A to point B, it survived the big snow storm that we had this year and being a RWD it did pretty well, with the right snow tires. I had Hankook ipikes. Obviously with more than the foot of snow the car will struggle, like most car would. As for power, 200HP is more than enough to have fun on the highway and on local street driving. Its usable HP that's important and you can use most of the 200HP easy on streets and highway. The only downside to this car is the Trunk space, it would hold 4 tires thats about it. anything bigger the trunk does not have enough space height wise. Overall the car is dream to drive regardless of its minor flaws.
Any more questions about the car go ahead and ask. Btw mine is a 6spd the only transmission to get for this car. Auto=fail.

Is the FR-S / BRZ a fun DD? I've been thinking on and off it I should trade the Si for one of these....

It's an amazing DD, I absolutely love making excuses to run out and drive it

Front Engine Rear drive always way more fun than front engine and Front drive, and as a DD this car trumps any car in its price range and class. i can rev line the car in all gears just to merge onto highway and it puts a smile on my face hearing the 2litre boxer roar. You get a stamp of approval from me as a owner to close to a year now. Get one.

When did you get the car Tozer, are you on the FT86club club site? I hope you did the car justice and put it on the track. Little rant here, hate seeing these cars on the road knowing people just bought it because its a successor to the 86 or just the hype, and never do the car justice. True car enthusiast would know this car, who watch this car be born from 4 years of development would know to buy it and track it to do the car justice. Being a 2month wait for this car, and seeing the car driven by old farts just irritates me they are wasting a good car. Now tozer nothing against you, as your part of a car club and know the pain on a car being wasted. ok rant over lol.
Btw what kit you have on the car? 5axis?

Just entering my 3rd week with it and yes I am on Ft86! Unfortunately the car will not be on the track this year, hopefully next year though. But your rant is hilarious lol but it's true. Eventually way way down the road when I can afford it it'll be a strictly track car but as of now it's just my putt putt mobile that once in a while will see the track. My dad works for Toyota so this car has been the talk of my household for a long time coming and to say the least my dad envies me that I bought this car
But you'll probably have a comment just like most people do, but I went auto.
And yes I have the five axis kit 5pce with enkei raijin staggered wheels and just ordered the 3'' Perrin Catback w/ 4" slashed tips

My Si puts a smile on my face for the same reasons lol. I just don't know how much of an upgrade it really is. In terms of power, the 2 are pretty much on par.
The biggest difference is the RWD, but is that really enough of an upgrade for me to make the switch?
I track, but only 3 - 4 times a year at most.

RWD layout alone isn't the only noticeable difference that sets these two cars apart. I wouldn't even hold the Si as a competitor nor comparable to the BRZ/FRS. Only other competitor out there is the Genesis 2T coupe, I feel.

The big enough upgrade will really be up to you. Honestly i can only tell you how i feel about the car, and telling you isnt the same as feeling it. Hence my only suggestion is to drive one. Markville toyota has a asphalt auto, DVNT has a Black auto, hot lava 6spd. Go test drive one and don't be afraid to beat the crap out of them.
