- My Ride!
When do u think your ride will be ready for battle? I can't let u have the fastest MZ3 without me giving u a run for your money lol.

Hopefully everything goes as planned! Usually guys give up on their MZ3 builds and get a MS3, but you've stuck in there! Awesome. If this thing turns out to be faster than some of the guys that go to the track with their ms3's.....hats off to you man. I do need more power so we will talk more about it when I run into u on the track...I need some pointers.
@Booter22 - Me and Kiyomi have about the same time at the track. Thanks to Thanu and Kiyomi I started my MZ3 build cuz I was inspired by them when I saw them run at cscs Finale in Sep. 2011.
intake port
exhaust port
cam gear did not fit, so machinist took out vvt sprocket and will replace with a normal one. no more vvt for me. supposedly its better without one.
cams in with minor problems. tapets needed to be grinded and valve adjustment definitley needed. all thx to the machinists. the duratec and mzr have very slight differences, one which was the intake/exhaust cam sprockets not fitting both stage 1 duratec cams.
overall, very pleased with how its turning out. shouldnt be much longer before its ready to get dropped in.
ive also read that these blocks (duratec/mzr) have very high potential for making amazing power 300+whp all motor if its done with the right parts. o snap. but by then, u wont be able to drive it legally on the street.
goal is to get around 220whp at 5800rpm/200wtq at 3500 rpm. anything more is icing on the cake for this "stage 1" build.

Awesome. Getting close
sawweeeet justin..when is it going in?
Nice!
U still gonna use street tires or get somethin a lil stickier to put down a mean time?
yeah, going with rs3's again, but made some adjustments so i can use 255/40/17s now. maybe one day ill use slicks just for the hell of it. also, i had my dampening wrong last year (stiff front, soft rear) which will help with the understeer of the car this year.
when it gets warmer. above zero.![]()
255's huhI'm going smaller.
Yeah that probably cost u some time with the dampers for sure.
255??? Damn! That's gonna look bad ass. I run 205 lol.

I think the widest I've seen was 235's. Although I would love to drive your car, I'd be afraid to break something and no one knows their car like they do so I doubt I'd be faster in yours than you.
Anyway, pm me (if you don't mind) where you got your engine done. I'm still debating on going boost or do some engine work instead.
oh yeah, cant wait to hear this thing

update:
just got the race rear motor mount from corksport, and im extremely impressed by the quality. makes the current one im running from SURE look like a toy. very glad i went with cs for this mount as a replacement.
my ultimate racing axle back exhaust will be for sale in about a month. going to a diff brand to be quieter.
also took off chrome gas cap, and taking off all stickers. <--- o no. less hp
going for the clean look this yr and so i stop getting roadside inspections from cops.

installed racing beat exhaust yesterday with the help of Hamza. very fun and simple install, and very pleased with the results. sounds close to stock at cruising speeds which is what i wanted. even smoother with the oil change i did today.
my previous exhaust is now up for sale with a small incentive for asking price. http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/sh...t-axle-portion
up to some cool stuff this coming week, if a small part comes. top secret for now, aside from a few who already know.![]()
