No. This is my replacement Skyactiv one. Something happened with the dials when I had the old one apart. So I ordered another one, it came with 9500 k

that's one way to lower your car kms and make your car "like new" again lol

I plan to install a different cluster, but I'm not 100% sure if it will work. but it has a lot of K on it, so I'd be at 160000km

No. You must have missed it. My car has 9500 km on it now. Ordered a used cluster. Came in with 9528 on it. Nothing anyone can do to roll the mileage legally. I will just declare it when I sell it.

No. Anything can be damaged. The cluster wasn't working properly anymore, I had to replace it. I have never heard of a law saying I can't change it.

people do it all the time when they import cars from the states to change it from imperial to metric

It's perfectly legal until you get caught.

I used to do this (export trucks from CA to US). We drove the trucks to a certified dealer, removed the cluster, they converted and we reinstalled.

The key was documentation. They had to use cameras with film (no digital allowed; to easy to doctor).

I'm sure things have changed now though to a certain degree. This was about 15 years ago. Same cluster though to, just changed the cluster plates so they were imperial as the primary measurement.

We do it at work some times, Our cars store the mileage in 10 different modules. Not in the cluster. Of course the cars require proper programming after.
Dealers are capable of swapping clusters for you however proper documentation will be required. Someone I know had an 05 civic with a defective cluster, dealer put a brand new one in (under warranty) and put a sticker in the door, stating actual mileage. My 05 3 had it done at the dealership as well

265,000km on my 2006 now and I'm on all original everything still (except the obvious brakes/tires).

Only pieces I have replaced are a tie rod & control arm on the drivers side front suspension and my thermostat.
