Side mount license plate

I've seen older posts about the RHO and the cork sport one. I feel that $100 is a bit much for the corksport one but I'm willing to buy it brand new, I'm not willing to spend another $37 on shipping and all this before taxes.
Zip ties seem like a better purchase at the moment.
Anyone have the corksport or the RHO they can give feedback on?

I have the Corksport. Easy to install, spend 2 winter with it and it still rock solid

I had the rho plate, used for 2 years, then needed to be remove because i don't have the stock crash bar anymore. Quality is good but the back plate rusted badly. So now it's mounted on the bumper under the driver side headlight.

Corksport one is rock solid, I don't like how it sticks out if you look at the car from the side, other then that, I like it.

Partially agree.
The plate is held onto the tow hook bar with a small bolt and can come loose if f***ed with. The bolts provided for the plate were too short for a plate cover so 60¢ at home depot got 2 longer bolts and 2 washers.
I would buy CS if I were to do it again. Tried putting @lazycro's on in a parking lot and it is built very well.

RHO plate is garbage

i've put a longer screw in and have put many different thick locking washers on both sides of the plate holder part and it still spins like a propeller

I have the RHO PLATE, also had problems with it coming loose. I ended up using extra lock washers and Loctite thread locker to keep it tight, is working so far. And plastidip'd the plate mount to keep it from rusting. And also bought longer 1/4-20's for mounting the bubble plate.

Sorry but that made me laugh. Mine isn't that bad but I can see it getting that way if the bolt strips.

@Guts go order the cp-e tow plate , it's more money then the others but it's a much better build and it won't spin

I run the cpe plate, and it's great. Hasn't moved a bit since the day I put it on.

Find someone with a welder and get them to make you one. I made mine, it's completely solid and didn't cost me a dime (used scrap metal just from the shop) Rust free so far a year later

ugh... rho plates are straight up garbage... mine went in the trash, it was ALWAYS rotated and even with lock tite it wouldn't stay in place.

I used a CP-E one after and its well worth the money, not to mention has a really good re-sale value.

I got my RHO plate used and it's been just fine for about 1.5 yrs now... no threadlock or anything, just tightened that screw down and it only turns if I intentionally twist it.

Well you are lucky. Mine rotated like crazy the other day and made a bunch of scratches on my bumper I'll figure out a way to fix it yet.

that's strange! because i have the rho and it never turned on me. The only thing i had to do was get longer bolts so i can fit my tm3 plates on.
