I've got the Canadian tire ones in my car, got them two weeks after owning the car which was in May and they are still going strong, not bad for $10.

If I'm following right you guys drive with these lights on right? I'd be looking to just tap into my interiors for some extra footwell lighting while entering and exiting. I'd find that somewhat distracting to drive with I think. Lots of dark highway driving here. I live it of town, so drive in the pitch black quite a bit.

You could, but im in the same boat as you. Lots of dark highway so we just wired mine up with a 2pos switch

Yeah mine also has a 2 position switch on and off

if i feel its too bright in the cabin for where im driving i simply turn them off.

Would be cool to have a rotating knob of some sort to dim and brighten the lights.

Go grab a potentiometer (turning dial with varying resistance) and you'll have just that
