It's just a blog post but is pretty informative.
Pretty much applies to all insurance companies but I agree with you about the personal. I have dealt with them and they are only good if you want to stay stock and save.
I asked them about my winters being different rim sizes and weights, broker gave me a huge rant answering nothing. I told him that the weight of the car affects performance more than anything else. It all comes down to what you can prove in court and what contracts are signed by the parties.

No, my insurance includes liability and collision (when I say "comprehensive" I really mean those plus other items like having a tree branch hit the car, having the car vandalized etc.). Depending on the specific provider and policy, those types of ailments may or may not be included.
In reality, I would only ever file a claim if a) The damage was the result of another driver or b) The damage resulted in extensive cost (i.e. thousands of dollars). Filing a claim for a few hundred dollars (e.g. minor body damage, etc.) probably doesn't make sense as it would drive your premiums up and you'd probably be paying even more in the long run.
OK, Just over 50, thought I'd see a reduction but nada last year. Then moved from Scarborough to Etobicoke. I go from $1450 to $2250 roughly. Now, the bone I have isn't so much the rate increase, however, as I submitted my change of address, this is when I find out my whopping increase. Instead of offering me another more economical option, they just go ahead an process the address change. Afterwards, after shopping around I find I can get same coverage for $1650, and guess what...so can they with RSA. WTF, isn't your broker supposed to be looking after you, or are they all in bed with the insurance companies.
Looking to switch brokers....I've been with them for 30 years.....can you believe they tell me I now have to pay a cancellation fee, should the had done what they supposed to and offer better customer service this could have been caught just before my renewal.
Do your brokers contact you before your renwal offering you savings or cheaper but reputable insurane options?

Was $250 monthly, now after the yearly renewal, it dropped to $218. Boohyaaaah! Safe driving FTW. But actually I wish it would go less than $150 because yeah

Im with TD auto insurance and they charge me $260 a month for 2010 mazda3 hatch. I only selected the basic package.

Does the insurance decrease after you turn 25? If so, must I call (like when I got my G license) or is the rate just automatically lowered in their system?

They say I'm an addict but I don't have a problem with alcohol or drugs. I'm an addict because I can't live without bass. Car audio is my addiction. And it will never change.

Renewal just came in $200 off my premium so now I pay $352 instead of $374
