Basically as stated in the title. Looking to tint a few things (reflectors, side markers, etc). Just curious which one people find easier to use / better / easier to remove if mistakes or change mind.
Thanks guys!![]()

I never understood why people put so much money into their cars...and then I finally bought one.
I wouldn't use either and use Vinyl

The look really is kinda subjective. Some people like the finish of dip, some Nightshade. But in terms of being able to remove, PlastiDip would be far easier (if put on properly)
i got mine plasti dipped black
i tried both and I like the VHT better. I also put a gloss cost onto so its more shiny. but if you use VHT, don't think about taking it off later on..... lol
I've done both on my tail lights. VHT is superior imo. but if you are looking to have removability. go with dip.
for non light emitting pieces, wrap it.

Look into Duplicolor MetalCast
I used that on my tail lights and I thought they turned out better than NiteShades
The finish is a lot glossier than the VHT
TIP - use small suction cups to mask off over the reverse lights
I've dipped a few different sets of tails, and have never had an issue. Use a good quality clear, light coats and you should have an issue. I spray, let them dry, then wet sand and polish them up. Held up good for a while now.
Paint thinner doesn't really take off vht I tried that and it didn't even come off. Use goof off it'd way better and works faster

Tamiya smoke model paint is phenomenal. Goes on easily and super durable. Used it on my side markers and reflectors on two cars, never had to re-coat or have any issues.
Along with rust-proofing, bird shit, and mosquito blood to name just a few common things. Ask me how I know
But yes paint thinner should work, although haven't had the need to try that myself yet. Really comes down to what kind of finish you want, and how permanent you want the job to be.
I recently took off the red nightshade I tried paint thinner first it didn't even budge. Goof off works right before your eyes it removes it like seconds from put it on top
